I know I'm a day late here but my first question: how old are your nieces? Second, do their parents have a problem w/them watching Hanna Montana? If they don't mind, then it's not really your place to tell them that Hanna is a bad influence. Our friends now teenage daugher LOVED Barbie when she was little. I do not & still don't. So, we just bought her other girly gifts that we knew she would like. We never told her why we didn't buy her Barbie stuff.... my opinion of Barbie wouldn't have mattered to her just like I'm sure it won't matter to your nieces what your opinion of Hanna is. To be honest, I think you are over-reacting a bit....the pic was of a small amount of her back. Bathing suits reveal more skin. Geeze, girls shorts shorts, ultra minis & tight cami tops reaveal more skin that Miley did in that pic! And on her shows & in public, Miley Cyrus/Hanna Montana is not scantily clad. In fact, that's the most skin I've seen her reveal. As to the pics that surfaced on the web....she's a 15 yr old girl goofing around who didn't expect her 'friends' to post those pics. I remember trying to be sexy in pics like that at 15 & I'm sure there are plenty of other girls who have done the same. There are also way more horrible influences on kids than Hanna.....drugs, drinking, violence/gangs, sex & teen pregancies....none of which are ever topics of Hanna's shows. The closest thing to a bad influence is the mean, conceited girl who puts everybody down in order to feel better about herself & the fact that she has 2 'friends' w/such low self-esteem that they're willing to put up w/her nastiness. Yep, my boys, ages 7.5 yrs & 3 yrs like her show & I watch it w/them. It's funny, clean, & shows a girl achieving her dreams but still being a 'real' teen w/zits & worries.
