Unfortunately my son and I didn't end up going to Florida on my husband's work trip last year but this year we can :-)
I've looked at several old posts on mamapedia and Trip advisor for 'things to do' but I'm still confused! So many great options.
We have 6 days in Orlando. I'm thinking Gatorland + Medieval Times dinner, Old Town/Downtown Disney and the Lego shop, Kennedy Space Center, Discovery Cove to swim with the Dolpins (but $$$) and Disney World (but which one? LEGOLAND (which I have heard is very expensive but that would be my son's first pick). Vacations are very infrequent for us (I even feel guilty thinking about the expense of this trip) so I like to take advantage of activities we cannot do at home. What would you recommend as best bang for your buck and which Disney world park? Thanks in advance

So What Happened?

So I got a little carried away! I was so excited to hear we could tag along on my husband's work trip I didn't look at the entry prices before ramming in so many activities into a 6 day itinerary lol. Jeeze the entry fees are expensive! Still you get what you pay for and these parks are not just your average 'bounce house'. I did see that www.zulily.com has a 25% off kids entry to LEGOLAND and 21% off adult admission (water park included). Thanks so much for your advice ladies. I will keep working on my wish list v's budget list. Just feeling the sun on our backs after 5mths of snow will be wonderful

For that age probalby Magic Kingdom and maybe Disney Studieos. (usued to be MGM). He would probably like animal Kingdom but it does not take as long to get through. If you can get a park hopper pass try animal kindom as well. Down Town Disney might be a little fun but not as much as the parks.

Legoland is much cheaper than Disney. Like $68 to get in where Disney is $95, it’s just a little farther away. My daughter is 6 and loves Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Legoland, those are her first picks. Old Town you have to pay for each ride but they do have a daily car show and there are other things to do in there. Downtown Disney is mostly shopping and restaurants, but they just opened a bowling alley (three floors and really cool).
Medieval Times and Gatorland are fun too. You should check out Ripley’s museum and Wonder Works they are both on International Dr in Orlando.

4 Year old Boy will enjoy Animal Kingdom in Disney World. They have a climbing area that ends in a sand pit. Its in the Dino area. The parents can sit and watch them just go nuts digging and running around that place. There is also a safari where you can see the animals up close. The circular raft ride is fun also. Prepare to get wet. The good thing is you can get yourself the fast pass for the safari or water ride and then let them go nuts over at the sand pit until the time is up. Magic Kingdown is nice two in the space are with Buzz Lightyear but its a long wait so you want a fast pass for that as well.
