(Kinda embarrassing for me) but I was on the Depo Shot for 4 years got off used nothing for 1 year and got back on the shot for 3 more years 6 months ago I stopped taking it again, I have an appt for the Mirena IUD in 1 week. I have been having cramps like I am going to get a period, but nothing, now my nipples are so sensitive and tender, they hurt, could it be a side affect from no birth control? Or could I be pregnant? Please I need to hear your input. Hubby knows nothing yet. :) I am at work but plan to get a Pregnancy test when I leave I just want to get some "words of wisdom" for what is going to be a LONG day. Thanks

Well, I took a home pregnancy test, it came out negative, the Doc gave me a pregnancy test on Friday the 24th, that one came out negative but because of the tenderness and the tons of unprotected sex hubby and I had he put me on a 2 week no sex :( thing then I have to take a blood pregnancy test THEN and only then will he give me the mirena. These 2 weeks are driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! Almost over i guess.

I would say you are quite possibly pregnant. Did you have those same symptoms with the other 2 pregnancies? Hope everything works out for you.

I have no words of wisdom other that GO GET THAT TEST! I bet you're going nuts! Sore boobs could be the hormone changes because of pregnancy or withdrawal from the shot. It's hard to know. I hope for you the outcome you're wanting. Now, bust a move to the pharmacy!

Im sure you know by now if your pregnant.?So if you are just remember children are blessings from God and if your not and don't plan to have any more children.Take care of it permanently so you don't have a surprise.
I started this new birth control called Emplenon. Its a tiny size stick like the size of a match stick inserted in the inside of your forarm.Feels like a tiny sting and they do num the area first. Its good for 3 years. It does have the side affect of spotting up to 6 months then you don't have your period for 3 years.
I did spot for five months and then i stopped and haven't had a period.I know you think about how can someone stand spotting for that long of a time, but its not like having a heavy period. And it does stop.I personally enjoy not having my monthly every montha nd all the symptoms that come w/that.Just a suggestion.
Good Luck. And let us know if you do have a surprise in 9 months waiting for your family.

I have never had breast tenderness when going on and off from

birth control. I had extreme nipple and breast tenderness

when I was pregnant. I also had pretty bad cramps, thinking I

was going to start and then did not. It turned out I was

pregnant. I wish you the best.

I also have the Murina IUD and I love it so far but he first few periods were a doozie! So I think you should get the test and make sure your not. Here is my experince going off the Depo and on to the IUD. I got off for about 8 months to let my non regular cycle regulate it self. My body was missing the hormones, and because I was out of whack with out the subsitutes, I was crying and I had tenderness. I was 100% sure I was expecting, and I wasn't in the end. However you should always be sure before you get on to any birth control that you are not expecting because of complications to yourself and the child.

Been there, nothing happened. Every now and then my nipples hurt days before my period. Have never had those symptoms during my pregnancies... my breast get bigger in the second month but no cramps. Period cycles tend to change after stopping birth control. Not sure how many days you're late but I guess you just have to wait and see.

Unfortunately both are signs of pregnancy and period! Are you the least bit late?

I have been off BC for a very long time- didn't like the side effects.

Good Luck!

This sounds like an ectopic pregnancy where you're pregnant - but the embryo is lodged in your fallopian tube. If you are, the doctor can run a test to check. I hope this helps!
