what do i do about my 19 year old still wetting his pants? especially his bed. i mean hes 19 isnt he a little old to still be doing this.
At 19 it is no longer your concern, he is a man, and if he has an issue it should be between him and his doctor.
I know someone (an adult) who wet the bed until he was 23 at which time he was finally diagnosed with ADHD. Once he started taking the medicine, he stopped wetting the bed. After taking the medicine for a couple of years, now even if he goes off of it, he did not wet the bed. The docs say that the meds helped him "train" his brain. I know a lot of people are against medication but I can say for certain that it changed this man's life for the best in so many ways.

Suggest you have him evaluated by a doctor.
You need to have him checked for diabetes , which is usually due to adrenal disease (cushings or addisons). Low adrenaline can cause excess urinary output. You will see that the medicines they give dogs who urinate on the floor is phenylpopanolamine- which is a drug that causes the adrenal gland to release more adrenaline. Ma Huang is an herb some use for reducing urine output- because it increases adrenaline .
These are are all herbs to help with stopping over production of urine:
cayenne
horsetail
dandelion
lemon balm.
Dandelion is used with people on the adrenal disease loop that i am on. So as you can see, urinary problems are due to a faulty adrenal gland! Do not go out and get all these herbs. Many of them come with definite side affects and can be dangerous if you dont know what you are doing.
Have his cortisol checked with a SALIVA CORTISOL TEST which tests 4 different times of the day- ( do NOT use a blood test). That is the first thing I would do to check adrenals. If you cannot get a doctor to agree to do it, go to canaryclub.org and order it there and pay for it out of your own pocket (probably about 100 bucks or so).
There are other tests you can do also after that, depending on the results.
It is VERY hard to find doctors, even endocrinologist specialists, who will take this seriously or even do follow up testing.
Adrenal disease affects other organs besides the adrenals including the BLADDER, KIDNEY, heart, liver, etc
Adrenal disease will cause high or low calcium(depending on weather you have low adrenal output or high adrenal output.) Many people find that reducing milk products helps alot with urination problems at night because it helps decrease calcium in the blood. Nocturnal urination can be caused by hypercalcemia (high blood calcium).
