This one is good and unexpected...Hand out pencil and paper and have a volunteer walk around with a tray with various items on it. Have her show the tray to everyone and then leave the room. Then have everyone write down what the lovely assistant was wearing!

Sorry to say it, but most people really dislike "party games"- even at showers.

For my sister's bridal shower last summer, I asked everyone to send me their wedding picture and we posted them around the room. People had a blast looking, laughing and lots of informal conversation starters.

In your case, maybe ask your guests to bring their prom picture? Unless your friends' proms were within the last 5 years, it could be a great lead-in to makeovers!

Ha,ha... I loved Gayle's suggestion! too funny. I went to a party and the hostess had us pull things out of our purses that start with a certain letter of the alphabet. You could us "MAKEUP" as the word, scramble the letters and have your guests find items based on those letters and then ask the group what the letters spell. Have fun!!

I agree... a lot of people don't like them and depending how big the group is you can have a tough time getting people to pay attention, etc. Maybe you can incorporate a wine tasting along with the event? Or to get people talking to one another you can have everyone where the name of someone famous on their backs and you have to guess what's on your back by asking people questions.

When my daugher was turning 7 we braved having 13 girls over for a makeover party! What a blast it turned into! My oldest niece painted the girl's nails while my cousin helped the girls out w/their make-up.

One game that we played was a dress-up race - i took a dress, a sweater & a pair of heels for each team & they had to race to get dressed first (w/the help of their team mates) and then when they got to the opposite end of the room there was another girl who had to add a # of items of jewelry. It was a scramble each time but we all laughed a whole lot. The next game we did was a game kinda like hot potato but we used a diva pillow that the winner got. We tried to do as much as we could w/the prizes & for games. We also played hot & cold w/2 other prizes - the one the furthest away got a prize for being a good sport. But the most fun game we played was w/the baby pictures of the girls. On the invitation (or you could do it during the RSVP) we asked that each girl bring a baby picture of them & we had the girls try to guess who was who - the girl that got the most won. Have fun & if you haven't already gotten your supplies, Oriental Trading had some really great stuff we had gotten. Good Luck!

Poeple say their name and an adjective. For instance "Perfect Patti" and than the next person repeats the prior people's name and adjective. So the last person has to memorize all the names in the party.

Have everybody bring sleep wear in a brown bag and everybody has to guess who bought what- the most correct answers win a prize.
