Hi moms, I posted a question on here about having my period every 2 weeks and it being very heavy. Well I went to an OBGYN and it has been suggested I have an Uterus Ablation like a lot of you suggested. My problem is that I do not have any medical insurance and the procedure is very expensive. You can get it done in a hospital which ranges between $5,000. To $6,000. Or some doctors now do it in their office which is cheaper and ranges between $3,000. To $4,000. What I wanted to know does anyone know of a doctor in the Palm Beach area that will do the procedure for less or maybe offer a payment plan? I have called so many and they all want the money up front. I am so desperate and getting very depressed with having my period so often. Also I am just so tired and rained all the time. If anyone knows of a facility or doctor that can help me out the information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

Have you investigated the uterus ablation fully? I had one done nearly 6 years ago and I had to have a sterilization first before they would perform the procedure. Have you completed your family?
You are having the lining of your uterus removed. Even though it took away my heavy period, I still had a very short and light "period" for a day or so each time, somtimes nothing at all. However my period is now returning stronger and stronger every month. I was told that this would happen and at the time all I wanted was to get rid of the heavy periods - now I am sorry that I did this. A uterus ablation is not a permanent solution.

I'm not going to be much help with actual Doctors in your area that will do payment plans but I am going to suggest that you look into CareCredit.

It is mainly for veterinary and dentistry but there are a small number of gynecologists and women's health centers that will take it as well. I know that in my area there are 3 or 4 so not a lot but worth looking into. CareCredit works like a credit card but if you can get approved then you can do long-term, low interest payments with them.

L.L., have you tried going on the pill? For me, the pill helped regulate my period, which would also come every 2-3 weeks, and it also reduced the blood flow. From a cost standpoint, maybe you could try Planned Parenthood. It used to be that you could buy birth control pills there at a cost based on your income.

Good luck!

I had a friend who had an ablation (coworker) It wasn't a pleasant experience. since you don't have health insurance and it is so expensive have you considered alternative health care such as accupuncture? Its much cheaper (runs about $45 to $60 a visit) and accupunture deals with a variety of issues and could also help with you tiredness which is mostl= likely from all that bleeding and therefore loss of iron. Good luck!
