Hi Mamas. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a dentist that is great with young children? My son has been to a dentist in Rutherford who is good for me but not good with 4 year olds lacking patience and not explaining what he was about to do. He's got cavities already so will not just be going for cleanings so want to be sure he has someone who is patient and thoughtful so that my child will not hate going to the dentist. We're close to Essex and Hudson county as well and appreciate any good referrals. Thanks very much!

hello- I have taken my son who is 5 1/2 yrs to this dentist named Dan Chiang (for all children and adult dentistry) located at 301 kearny ave kearny the number is ###-###-#### I found him to be excellent for my son he explains everything he is doing very patient with the kids my son had xrays done a cavity filled and a root canal done We live in lyndhurst so he is close by good luck let me know if u try him D.
a little far.. but Westifeld Pediatric Dental is awesome.. the kids love it... they have tv on the ceilings, all kinds of cool flavored toothpaste and flouride, balloons, and toys.. they are great dentists too.. you could take the parkway down to westfield... it would take you about 35 minutes.. but it would be worth it.. good luck

I use a practice called Laser Dentistry for Children which is in Ft. Lee/Teaneck and I think Queens (Dr. Jacobson is head childrens dentist at a doctor there).
Alan's had cavities filled by Dr. Jacobson using the laser and it was much lessful/stressful than the traditional drill.

There is a great pediatric dental group in Bloomfield I am not sure of the name but I am sure you can look it up. It is on the Clifton border so it is not far at all from Rutherford. They have pediatric dentist and also orthodontists for when and if your child will need braces. I have many friends that have used them and say they are great.
