Hi - I'm looking for a dentist in the Lafayette/Erie/Louisville area that specializes in children. The only one I have found so far is Foothills Pediatric, but I think they are out of network for my insurance. Anyone know of any good ones? I'd also be ok with Broomfield or Boulder but am looking for someplace a little closer.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

We love Dr. C at Foothills (just there yesterday!) We have Metlife and they are 'out of network' for us too. However, they charge the same rates as an in network provider and therefor get reimbursed at rates making ino out of pocket payment for us. We never get charged for routine cleanings, x-rays, floride treatments, etc.

I've personally found that the 'in network' providers for Metlife to be sub par. HTH.

I just got a mailer about a pediatric dentist office in Superior. It looked really nice. I found the link for you online: http://www.mykidsdentistonline.com/. I remember they were giving away a free kids' electric toothbrush, too.
Good luck,
S.

I wanted to send a quick reply but I cannot find specific info at this moment. Our pediatric dentist is Dr. Barbara Hymer at Perfect Teeth in Arvada. We drive all the way from Longmont to see her - she is FANTASTIC. She has seen us through a first cavity in our 21mo. old to silver caps at Children's Hospital (requiring general anesthesia) to recently just pulling a molar silver cap that had gotten infected. She used to teach at Children's and is very respected there. I don't personally like Perfect Teeth and they are a strip mall dentist. When we were having problems with some other staff there (regarding insurance issues and scheduling) I asked her why she stayed there. She said it's a place for her to practice her dentistry and see kids but she doesn't have to worry about all the staff issues or running her business. She sees all three of our kids (one of which has problem teeth) and she is so great with the kids. I hope you'll take this recommendation. If you want to reach me directly, please feel free to do so. I can get you all the office information if you need it. If she isn't on your insurance, good luck!! -J.

We have a spunky 2 1/2 yr old, too. Our dentist is a family dentist in Boulder and our daughter just loves him. (We live in Erie and make the drive in because he's so great.) His name is Dr. Kirk Rathburn ###-###-#### on Iris. We were given his card by our pediatrician, so I assumed he'd just be our daughter's dentist. But after her first visit I switched all of us to him because he was so lovely. The office is not super kid-friendly, ie no crazy toy set-up, but there's a neat fishtank and prizes at the end...his staff is also very sweet. Hope this helps...best of luck to you.
