Hi Ladies- I'm seeking pediatrician recommendations in or around South/North/New/East Brunswick, Somerset and surrounding areas. I'm looking in particular for a doctor that's willing to work with us regarding spacing out vaccinations for our 3 month old. Would also like the doctor to be affiliated with St. Peter's in New Brunswick. We're not really happy with the practice we're with that told us they'd be willing to space out vaccinations but when the topic comes up it feels like a battle. I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

So What Happened?

Thanks for your recommendations ladies. I was hoping to find a pediatrician that's more local (it takes me about a half hour to get to Hillsborough, longer with traffic). I live at the tip of South Brunswick near North Brunswick. But I would be willing to drive a bit if I can't find anyone close by. The group that we're with now is also large (like Somerset) and are open year round which I love. They also said they'd be willing to work with us regarding spacing out vaccinations but when it actually came down to it I was given a hard time. That's good to know about Somerset, that they don't just say they'd be willing but they mean it!

I absolutely love Dr. Cohen! We actually started out with North Brunswick Peds. We decided to leave though because of their office hours (no evenings and limited weekend). I also wasn't happy with the staff there. Several times I tried to contact him and was questioned as to the call (with an attitude). As a new Mom that made me nervous. I'm sure that I will have many questions and I just felt like it would be too difficult. To the Mom that goes there (sorry, I forgot your name and can't go back to the screen without losing this post!), did you ever have any issues with his staff? I feel badly though because we really, really like him. You're so right, he doesn't make you feel like a number and takes his time answering any and all questions.

I appreciate your posts.

Thanks again ladies. :-)

We use Pediahealth in Bridgewater. They are affiliated with St. Peter's and came right to the hospital when my daughter was born. The are wonderful- we see Dr. Senator on a regular basis. Dr. Jain is great and so is Dr. Calimlim. Dr. Calimlim is a little bit more serious than the other two, but I really like her also.

Hi,
Our 9 month old goes to Somerset Pediatric Group. I love them. We go to the Hillsborough location, which is off of Amwell (not far from S. Brunswick at all). They also have other locations, but this was the most convenient for me. I delivered in St. Peter's New Brunswick and they are affiliated with that hospital. Also, one of the nurses at the hospital actually recommended them to me because her kids go there and also my sister in law's kids. The nice thing is that there is one location (I think Bridgewater, not sure, that is open 365 days out of the year). Another plus is that if you have any questions, there is a nurses line that you leave a msg and they always call you back the same day. I've called a few times before and they are so friendly and helpful.
We spaced out the vaccinations as well and the Dr had no issues at all with it. They are following the schedule that we provided to them. Our daughter actually has her 9 mo check up this week! We go to Dr. Wong. Very nice and answers all questions/concerns

Hope this helps. Good luck.

My daughter, now 6, has gone to Highland Park Pediatrics since she was born, and I have always found them willing to discuss any concerns I had regarding vaccines. They are a small office and I have never had difficulty getting her an appointment for a sick visit.

The doctor she saw most frequently as an infant and toddler is no longer there, but she has seen Dr Biener (who founded the practice) and Dr Gul. Dr Gul is who I try to make appointments with because I prefer to have her see a female dr, but Dr Biener has always been very good also.

I hope this helps.
