Congrats! We went to Ad-Park Pediatrics in Oak Park. We moved and now go to their office in Addison but were always very happy with the OP docs.

Congratulations!! I know this is a very exciting time for you. I take my daughter to Pedios on Chicago Ave. Everyone there is very friendly and I never have to wait long to see the doctor. I believe there are 4 doctors in the practice. All of the women doctors are great.

We live in Riverside and use the Peds at N. Riv Loyola Family Heath Clinic (on Harlem between Goodwill and Aldi...how's that for a location?!). All the pediatric doctors are fine, but we definitely like Dr. Chow the best. Of all the doctors we've seen, she actually listens the best and has appropriately referred us to specialists when necessary (our experience has been that some doctors have an "in house" kind of mentality, even when a specialist would be in our child's best interest). The location couldn't be more convenient, which matters to us. Plus, we wanted to be in a practice affiliated with a close (teaching) hospital since our son has some serious allergies.
The nurses and office staff are average, and we've had a few irritating incidents with them. But overall, we're happy there, and so are a few of our neighbors.

We live in Berwyn and I wanted to have a ped who was close to home. I chose Dr. Mary Ellen Gruska. Her office is part of FGM Pediatrics right in the depot district. She's very open to what the parents want, like with limiting antibiotics and talking about vaccines and stuff. She's affiliated with MacNeal Hospital, too, where my daughter was born. The number is 708/795-7005.

Congratulations! I remember going through the same issue when I was about 7 months pregnant. I was picky and wanted to have a doctor that would at least listen to and possibly advise on alternative therapies and would be very supportive of breast feeding. I use Drs. Locke and Uchetelle in River Forest. They practice out of the medical building on Lake St. between the Whole Foods near Harlem and the Jewel. ###-###-####. They were very happy to meet with me before I delivered and they practice out of West Suburban so they were the ones who discharged my babies.

Congratulations! We lived in OP for 9 years, and I had all 3 of my boys there. We now live in Downers Grove. Our pediatrician was Dr. Ann Fischer (6300 Roosevelt Road). Dr. Fischer is great. The staff was friendly, but did seem a bit overwhelmed/busy. However, that was in 2005, so maybe things are different. You might want to consider interviewing a few different doctors to determine where you feel most comfortable. Good luck!
