Congratulations! My 10 month old sees Dr. Haukness at Pedios ###-###-####). Love, love, love her and the entire practice is great too.
Looking for recommendation for good Pediatrician in Oak Park. Thanks!
Thanks for all the very helpful responses. I decided to go with Pedios I met with Dr. Wegner and she was wonderful! Very thourough and attentive! Now I'm just waiting for this baby to come! Thanks again for all the responses. My husband and I are going to look into Drs. Locke and Uchitelle for ourselves.

Welcome to Oak Park!
We had some bad experiences with Ad Park. (Sorry! to whoever recommended them, but we were with them for 3 years and I was just not happy.) They will keep you waiting for up to 2 hours, never less than 30 minutes, and their morning hours don't start until 10. I have other reasons we left but I won't go on in detail here.
Now we go to Pedios. We never wait more than a few minutes and all the doctors are wonderful. They open early enough that you can take a child in to be checked out and still make it to work in the morning, and they have some Saturday/evening hours. The only drawback with them is that (at least when I asked a couple of years ago) the only HMO they take is BCBS. (they take all major PPOs though.) Dr. Claus is our main ped, but we've also seen the other doctors and they're all good.
I've also heard good things about the practice on Roosevelt that one of the other posters mentioned.
We use Doctors Locke and Uchitelle in River Forest. They are great.
GOod luck!
Hi, I take my 7 mos old son to Pedios on Chicago Ave in Oak Park and have been extremely happy with them! We see Dr. Wegner. Their number is ###-###-####.
Good Luck!

Just wanted to add two other things I have really appreciated about Pedios. First, they have a morning call hour for non-emergency questions. It's nice, especially for new parents, to have a time you know the doctor is available for questions that maybe aren't life or death, but deserve an answer nonetheless. Also, I love that the nurses often call for follow-up after a sick visit, just to ask how things are going.
We see Dr. Haukness at Pedios and have also seen the other two Dr.s for sick visits as well. All are really great. The office staff and nurses are wonderful and they have the best office visit/scheduling policy we have discovered. We have always been able to get in that day if necessary and they also have late hours a couple days a week which is great for working moms and dads.
Good luck!
I'll second doctors Locke & Uchitelle. They have a family practice, so they see all of us and have a better understanding of our family as a whole as a result. I like that Dr. Locke knows me both as a mother and as a patient. I have found that they will often opt for gentle, non-invasive, non-medical approaches first and really listen to you as a parent. I know that if Dr. Locke prescribes an antibiotic, my child really NEEDS it - it's not just a knee jerk reaction to every runny nose and every ear ache. (A previous poster recommended calling Gayle Reidman - she's part of the midwife group that I use. Drs. Locke & Uchitelle are on their list of recommended doctors - which is where I got the rec.) Good luck!
Another vote for PEDIOS! We are so happy with them and our doctor--Dr. Donna Wegner. ###-###-####. Also, they are affiliated with Children's Memorial Hospital, which we have had to use a couple times and have had excellent care there. Tx, G.

I love Dr Mercola. He is an excellent Pediatrician. I take my 3 kids to him and couldn't be happier. He has great bedside manner, relates well to my kids and me, spends plenty of time with us and is very knowledgable. Hope this helps.
Congratulations!
I love Dr. Ann Fischer of Pediagroup associates on Roosevelt and Ridgeland ###-###-####). My 5-month old loves her too!

Ad Park Practice in OP is excellent. Good luck!
Hi S. -- congratulations on your upcoming arrival... We received a recommendation from a friend-of-a-friend when we moved to OP last year, and we've been thrilled. These are family practice doctors -- who all have a great manner with children. I highly recommend them. Feel free to ask me more questions about them. Drs. Hutton, Kyle, and Liu on North Avenue, ###-###-####. They always get us in on the day we call, staff is marvelous, and all three doctors are great with kids. It's easy because the whole family can go there. Good luck to you! Steph
hi Sarah,
Contact Gayle Reidman, a midwife at West Suburban in Oak Park. She'll give you a referral to a pediatrician.
