So, I don't really know what I should do. I haven't had a period in 3 months I have taken a million home pregnancy test they have all been negative. I don't have any health insurance at this time. I don't make much money either so running to a doctor really isn't a choice. Has anyone had this happen and they weren't pregnant? A little more info that might help I had two miscarriages last year within 4 months of each other.

What can I do next?

I had a friend who had this happen. She went 9 months before getting it checked. Ended up she had a problem with her thyroid and ovarian cysts. Don't panic, if you're stressed it could be that or even your diet, but if your period doesn't show up, you really should have it checked by a doctor.

Do you have a Planned Parenthood nearby? I used to go to their doctors for my annual checkups when I didn't have insurance and it was supercheap -- they charged on a sliding scale based on your income. Depending on how much you earn, you may be able to qualify for a free visit.

Like the others said, sometimes stress, a sudden change in weight, or if you're exercising excessively can cause this. Even if you don't have insurance, make sure you still get your annual OB exam from Free Clinic or Planned Parenthood!!

The Free Clinic of Cleveland (www.thefreeclinic.org)###-###-#### is on Euclid Ave in Cleveland. And it is FREE. They only ask that if you have some type of insurance that you use it. It's okay if you're employed.

Planned Parenthood is another option. There's one in Rocky River on Center Ridge, but there are several other sites throughout Cleveland. I'm not sure what they may charge you if anything. If they did charge, it would probably be some reduced amount based on your income level.

I had this happen to me about 7 years ago - I went 6 months without having a period. My doctor and I never figure out why it was happening - we think it was due to stress because I was in the middle of buying a house and planning a wedding.

I am sorry to hear about your complications and I do understand your concerns. Is there a family planning place or health department place in your area that can give you a free preg test or checkup? I would definitely find a way to get checked out.
GOOD LUCK

M.,
i had this happen to me while I moved to South Carolina 3 years ago. We thought I was pregnant, I took millions of test, no insurance like you. I even had a blood test done. Some doctor thougt it was my sugar or a thyroid problem, but I didn't have the money to go through with the test. Honestly I'm back to normal now and I live back in Ohio. I think it was the stress of being layed off at the time, moving to a new state, I knew no one. it was a crazy time. Maybe you're stressed or you might not think you are but I didn't think I was either. Do you have alot on your mind right now? Could it be that your worrying to much about getting your period of that you could be pregnant? I would see if there's a planned parenthood around you. It you're healthy and obviously not pregnant they could give you birth control just to get you regulated again. Plus I'm a plus size girl, I don't know if you are, but that's alway an issue that comes up when I don't get a regular cycle. They always seem to think that weight has some kind of play in it, which I'm sure it does I just don't get it. See if you can get into a clinic maybe you just have to force it to get back on track. Well whatever you do I wish you the best.

I think there is a Planned Parenthood in the area and they charge base on income so it should not be outragous. I would definately try to find some type of Doc or clinic to go to just to make sure you are ok. Good luck/

If you have had a lot of stress lately, or if your body fat is lower, its not uncommon to stop menstruating for several months. It used to happen to me all the time.

I would really look into Planned Parenthood. I know how it is not to have insurance. You really should get it looked into to. You may even qualify for Medicaid, which is a really great program for those with lower income. All you have to do is contact Jobs and family services in your county. It could be a hormonal thing. My friend goes months without one and they put her on the pill, which regulated her periods. I would say you aren't pregnant. Definitely contact P.P. though.

Hi there. I was in that same situation a couple of years ago. Because of my previous miscarrages I was concerned as well. I did two blood tests which both came back negative. As it turned out, my periods had stopped because I had lost 10 pounds rather quickly. My husband and I had tried the South Beach Diet and cutting the carbs also cut my period. Once I went back to a normal, but healhty diet I started having periods again. Have you had any weight changes recently? My doc said that can really affect your cycle. Good luck and take care of yourself.

If it's been 3 months and the tests are still negative, there could be some other reason. Perhaps you are severely anemic, in any case, it's probably best to get it checked out, even at like Planned Parenthood or something. Good luck!

there are clinics that you can go to. I go to the Mason Women's Center, I called them before for someone from my work that didn't have any insurance, they referred her to the clinic on Auburn Ave in Cinci...I know that it is pretty far away but you can call to see what or if they charge any fees.....it really isn't something that you should put off especially with your history......

I've had that happen to me. It's usually when I put on some weight or I'm under a lot of stress. For some reason my body does not ovulate and then I don't have a period. My doctor diagnosed it but I don't remember what it was called. My periods have always been irregular though so if your periods have been very regular it may be something else. I actually had to take a fertility drug called clomid both times that I got pregnant because of the problem. You may want to look for a free clinic in your area. I know there is one in Cleveland. They have an OB GYN department and it's all free and confidential. Hope this helps.

Hi M., I 52 but when I was in my 30's I also had several miscarriages. I and experienced missed periods, the first time was for three months I also got negative pregnacy tests results, after three months my period did start and I bleed for about 3 months, it started with spotting and got a little bit heavier each month until I was almost hemorraging it did not stop on its own.

I finally went to my doctor because I was getting light-headed and my heart would race everytime I climbed stairs,(I had become anemic from the loss of blood), my problem is fibroids, I am on prometrium 12 days a month to try and keep my periods normal. Also I have a friend whose daughter is about your age and she also had similar problems which were caused by fibroids.

Also if you are in need of inexpensive health insurance I may be able to help you.

Hope this helps,

Franny
