It looks like this group is still running. It has been awhile since I did any hikes with them and no longer seem to be getting email updates. Hope it works out for you.
Would folks here have any suggestions about places where I could take my son (2 years of age) for guided nature walks with other groups of toddlers and parents?
I am aware of other places where there are guided children's activities, like the Oregon Zoo and the Portland Children's Museum.
Thanks.
all the best,
P.

Paul,
The Tualatin Hills Parks dept has some guided nature classes nad tours for preschoolers. I saw them in the back of the catalog for Fall term. You can find a catalog at the Washington county rec centers or on-line at thprd.org
Hope it helps & have fun!
contact or get a schedule of the parks and recreation in your area.

They happen at different parks. Apparently it's still going on into October.
Forest Park & Tryon Creek State parks I believe do have programs for nature walks
I was going to recommend Rose's ideas ... but also mention that I think it is mostly non-state groups that host those, like maybe Friends of Forest Park or some local parenting group, and I know Tryon has at least one really strong volunteer group that is the actual presence on the ground more than the gvt folks (budget issues and all that). So finding a local greenspace and Googling for groups that hike there, might get you your answers.
Seems like I also read a good parenting-hike article about the parks just east of Troutdale, out on the Sandy, once ...
Have you looked up the various parks around here. I hear that Tryon Park has guided nature walks that I was going to take my little boy too but, never seemed to be that organized. There should be a website for it. Good luck.
Check out OutdoorDads.org
Very nice group. People there may know of other similar groups. Good luck.

These are for 'preschoolers & parents'. The cost s $3 for each walk. They occur mostly on Friday mornings and occasionally on Saturdays. The program is through Portland Parks & Rec.
The link is to a brochure about the program. If it doesn't work for you just google - ladybug nature walks portland. It will come right up.
