I had a really bad one on my toe that just wouldn't go away and I had it frozen off at the dermatologist and inbetween treatments I was told to use the over the counter stuff that you paint on and then cover with Duct Tape and do it daily till you can handle the pain. Then let it heal and do it all over again. I know it sounds weird but it did the trick. I guess keeping it covered like that sufficated it and it went away. I hope that helps. Good luck.

duct tape - put it over the warts and leave it on. They should fall off within a few weeks.... Good luck.

We use Duct Tape. Take piece and cover the wart, it will suffocate it. It usually takes 10-14 days. It works fabulously.

Good luck

Tried duct tape but it won't work unless the wart is scraped as far to the surface as possible every day. I highly recommend going to the Doctor and getting (don't laugh) Beetle juice..real beetle juice. It works great. no pain for kids. comes off in 1-2 weeks perfectly.

I had one on the ball of my foot frozen, but it didn't go away. I had it for 10+ years before I found a foot dr. who knew how to get rid of it. It had to be scrapped & frozen. The next week it was scrapped & he put acid on it. This went on for about 6-10 weeks (I don't remember how long) before it was finally gone. Mine was very stubborn, but I wanted to let you know that with planter warts OCT products & even freezing may not work. The wart needs to be scrapped.

God bless!

HI M. - I am pasting a reply I sent just recently to another mom who has asking about warts. Two of my four kids have had warts, and I had them as a child too. They're caused by a virus. My mom had mine removed (freezing/burning/pads, etc) though they sometimes come back. I've chosen to equip my sons' immune systems so the body can overcome the virus. The warts have gone away. It's not a quick fix, but it is addressing the real issue (instead of getting rid of the symptom or manifestation of the virus) and has lots of side benefits (stronger immune system means better health in general). If you want to know what products I used for immune system support, feel free to write me a private message.
Blessings,
A.

I agree about duct tape, but you have other otc choices at any drugstore.

I can't stress how important it is to view mayoclinic.com for any medical question. More than you ever expected to know. Webmd is ok but mayo has much more and most authoritative. Check it out. It will also tell you about duct tape and why, they think, it works.

Duct tape! It's actually 85% effective, while freezing or salicylic acid is only 60% effective. It also has the fewest side effects.

The method for duct tape (from a doctor) is:
1) Cut the duct tape to lesion size and apply.
2) Leave on the lesion for 6 days
3) Remove the duct tape, soak the area in water, and debride for 30 seconds
4) Don't put tape on that evening, but reapply the next morning
5) Continue until wart is removed or maximum of 2 months

Btw, you don't suffocate a virus (which is what a wart is) - they're not alive and don't need air. What you're doing is irritating the skin surrounding the wart so that your own immune system will kick in and fight the virus.

Try taking Oregano Oil (can be found at Whole Foods). My MD wouldn't cut mine out. He said it would be very painful, I'd be off that foot for up to two weeks and then it could come back. I asked my chiropractor and she told me to try oregano oil. Pain free and effective! It takes a while, but it works! Good luck!

duct tape. Put duct tape on it and leave it on until it falls off. Replace with new duct tape. You essentially suffocate the wart. Not sure if it works as well as with regular warts.

Wow, I'm going to try the duct tape!

I have had Plantar warts off and on since junior high. I had many warts on both feet as a young teen-ager and my Mom took me to the doctor every two weeks for EVER, where the Dr. poked what I later believed to be salycilic acid into them with a toothpick (painful!) and then ripped off the dead skin at the next visit (ouch!). The only good that came of that was that my mom bought me a chocolate dipped ice cream cone after each visit. Now you can buy the salicylic acid over the counter, but that will also take forever if the wart is of any size at all. If you catch it early, it works much faster. I've also had them frozen (even more painful!!) and if they don't go deep enough, they come right back anyway.

They also go away by themselves. Really. I've had them disapear completely.

But right now I have one that I've had for about 12 years...I've lost track. We've come to a mutual agreement - it can live there as long as it doesn't spread - and it hasn't.

I used oregano oil on my planters warts and this cured all of them without any pain at all (the house smelled like a pizza shop for awhile though!). I use Young Living Essential Oils and just rubbed it all over my feet and put on socks before bed. I did this every night before bed and after 2-3 weeks they were all gone. I’ve heard melaleuca oil does the same thing, but I haven’t needed it since I used the oregano oil.

My son had a wart and my husband put silicone on it and eventually it dried up and fell off. The silicone suffocates it.

put duct-tape on it and keep it on as long as possible for as many days as possible until it comes out. When the root comes out, it may bleed some, so be prepared.

Hi M.,
Had 'em in college. A friend told me it was a vitamin B deficiency. I started taking B vitamins (a complex with all the B's in it). They went away, and have never come back.

Duct tape? odd.

I'm afraid I'm no help. However, long ago, when I was a kid, I had about 25 plantar warts on the soles of both feet. My (old-fashioned) doctor gave me some little white pills to take and they all went away. No doctor now seems to know what the medicine was. Now I wonder if it was a placebo! Now they seem to mostly freeze them off. I hope someone else can help you!
