I have an 8 month old son who LOVES to swing. Does anyone know a playground in the Marietta/ Kennesaw area that has swings for his age?

What can I do next?

Hi S.,

Yes, Swift Cantrell Park at Kennesaw have two swings with full harness attached. They are very popular so be prepared to wait in line!!!

Hi, S.. Laurel Park on Manning Circle in Marietta has them. And there's the brand new Swift-Cantrell Park (I think that's the name of it?) in Kennesaw off Old 41 and Jiles (somewhere around in there).

Laurel Park is great...they have 4 "big" swings, and 4 baby swings...also a smaller playground for the little ones (although he's really too small for it right now). But they have a lake with ducks...I used to take my singleton there about that age (she's 5 now and I have 3 1/2 year old twins, so that was loooong ago!). I'd stroll her around the lake...she LOVED the ducks, and they have a big trail that can give you some exercise, too (if you want it, I did!). If you're on WHitlock, it's on the road that's at the Eckerd's, or coming the other way, it's on the road that's at the light by the Marietta High School (same road, it just winds around).

The new Swift-Cantrell park near Kennesaw elementary school has great swings for an 8 month old. It has a couple of swings that use a harness (not just the bucket seat).

There is a relatively new park that is fantastic, called Swift-Cantrell in Kennesaw. They have baby swings there and also bigger kid swings. I'd also recommend Laurel Park not far from Marietta High School and Whitlock.

It's not Kennesaw, but it isn't too far either. We love Kidstock, the playground at First Baptist Church of Woodstock (no you don't need to be a member it is open to the community). It has 5 or 6 swings for kids his age and lots of different stuff for as he grows.

East Cobb Park on Roswell Rd. has several swings that would work for his age. It can get crowded there, and hopefully people are considerate of this and vacate swings for others in line when their little ones have had a nice turn. We love this park.

I am not really familiar with the area (road names) but Laurel Park is in Marietta. If you take 120 to Whitlock and keep going past the battle fields, and past Marietta HS, you will pass a Kroger on your left. Go down about half a mile and there will be a Rite Aid (used to be a Eckerd) on your right, turn down that road and Laurel park will be on your left. They have infant swings and a smaller play ground. They also have a pond where you can feed the geese. It is a really nice area. My son and I go at least once a month.
