Potty Training Chair

i have the saftey first potty chair from walmart that works great. i like it. i have seen a chair that i don't like. it has a soft cushin for a seat but there are too many parts and you basically have to take it apart to throw out the pee. we also have a potty ring that we keep in the downstairs bathroom. as for public you teach them to put their hands down on the potty and hold themselves up so that they don't fall in. lol. at first you will have to help hold them but i was surprised at how quickly my 3 year old learned to do it herself. now we don't use any sort of potty aid.

since your daughter is just 16 months old i would keep the potty in the bathroom and start to introduce it to her. a good way to start is to have her sit on the potty right before bathtime.

We have the Winney the Pooh flushable potty. after the training it turns into a stool for reaching the big potty and the sink. it makes a flushing sound and says good job.

You can carry anti baterial wipes in your purse, If the weather is nice outside have her squat by the car or in the grass, travel with a potty chair and use it in the Family Restroom or handicap stall, For public restroom you if she is still small enough you can cradle her over the toilet. We never used a potty chair, just a little step stool, purchased at Target, if her feet can touch the stool then she can sit on the toilet normal, OR you can purchase toilet rings that fit over the adult seat (makes the hole small, so she does not fall into the toilet.

Just got the "Cheer for Me" Potty, and yes it flushes and has a toilet paper roll on it. We've not yet put the batteries in it but it "cheers" when the tinkle hits the bottom.
I also purchased the Bjorn potty ring for the other bathroom upstairs that no one else goes in so he could get used to going both ways, so he's using both. I researched and it got the best reviews of all the potty rings (not sure what sets it apart?)
