Potty Trainng

My son turned 2 in December. He is completey potty trained at daycare, in underware all day even through his naps, however when he comes home he consistently has accidents every day. He never asks to go potty at home (which he does at daycare) and when I put him on the potty he cries that he is "all done" and tries to get off. Has anyone else ever had an experience like this?

What can I do next?

My niece says her little boy was the same way....seems they have a Potty Party at daycare! I think it's normal. He'll get it!

It seems pretty common for children to act one way at daycare and another at home (different levels of expectations and group mentality go a far way!). If you haven't already done so, I would talk to the daycare to make sure you are using the same words or system for his toilet use. Perhaps a different routine or phrase may help at home. Otherwise, make sure not to stress about it, we all toilet train eventually!! Good luck.

My daughter did things similarly. My daughter who is 3 almost 4 has been daytime potty trained for quite awhile now. I think about a year. I am a stay at home mom and she would do great through naps and throughout the day and then come evening she'd stop trying all together. She would wet her panties, and then if you would take her as a precaution, she'd scream, try to get off the toilet, and then after making her stay on for so long, she would stand up and in seconds pee her pants. It was a very difficult time, so I sympathize with you completely. But, seeing as how my Jordan is one of the most headstrong kids I have ever met and she is now potty trained fully through out the day, and we are trying her at night...there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Keep trying and try to remain calm...I had a hard time being patient, but they do start going to the potty by themselves finally! It sounds to me like he is being such a gentleman at daycare that he just wants a break once he gets home. My daughter never had trouble when we were out, but the moment we got home, she would wet constantly, till she finally realized she prefered being dry too. I hope this helps.

talk to your day care and see what they are doing differently there than what you are doing at home. he must like something they're doing better than what is happening at home. it's probably some little trick :)
