I had the Mirena for two years, and I always thought I might be pregnant- it did some really strange things to my body (including the ones you have mentioned). You can take a test, but just know that the strange symptoms could be the Mirena.
Hi,
Has anyone ever know someone who has gotten pregnant with an IUD? I know it is not impossible but what are the signs? How would I know if I were pregnant? I ask because, for the last couple of weeks I have been feeling "off". My doctors are clueless and I'm just wondering if maybe I should take a test. My symptoms are dizziness, a headache, and sudden rushes of heat. I know these are not normal feelings for early pregnancy but neither were my symptoms with my first child.
Thanks a bundle,
S.

If you think you are prego and still have an IUD you need to go to the dr ASAP. This is a super serious matter.
There has been quit a bit of questions on here in the past about Mirena & pregnancy..If all of you woman were using the IUD & became pregnant that's alot of pregnancies in my opinion I know it's not full proof but suppose to be better than any other BC out there.Maybe doing a search under the topics will help you better if you can find the past posts mybe there wil be new info..And maybe a test isn't that bad of an idea:)
I feel the same way, I've had the iud for ten months now and have been feeling different. However, I did "spot" a bit earlier this week so i ignored it. I wonder if those are normal symptoms...hmmm
Although I know that it is possible to get pregnant while having an IUD - I think that it is VERY uncommon. My Dr. told me that she had never had someone get pregnant while using an IUD for birth control, and that in most cases where someone was pregnant with and IUD the situation was that they were already pregnant before it was placed but didn't know it. If you are worried about it, I would take a test to ease your mind. Also, you might just check yourself to feel if the IUD is still in place or not.....
it could just be PMS symptoms.
My PMS symptoms since I got my IUD are pregnancy type symptoms.
if you're worried take a test.
I take one every few months just to make sure.
The woman I work w/ had an IUD in and became pregnant. Not planned, when she went to the Dr - he told her there was a possibility of the fetus coming out with the IUD when he removed it. that is why this is So serious! I would take a test! BTW: she had a healthy pregnancy, and her DS is just fine to this day - that was 20 years ago....
