Hi Moms,
My name is P.. I am 8 weeks pregnant with twins and have no idea what to expect. I have a 4 and half year old daughter, so I know what to expect during pregnancy, but not with Twins. Is there any good online sources for women pregnant with twins? I have not found any actually websites.

Thanks.

My twins are 20 months old now. most of the pregnancy books really don't apply to twins. there is a book about being pregnant with twins or multiples. I don't remember the title and can't find the book anywhere but I got it at Barnes and Noble where all the other pregnancy books are, it is a big book so its fairly easy to find.

Be prepared to deliver early mine came at 34 weeks which is pretty normal. and also be ready to have to go on bed rest for the last month or so. good luck

Congrats! Twin pregnancy is probably a lot like a single baby. I am sure you will grow faster. And I am not sure that their are any websites, but just look there has to be some. I think just asking other moms like you have already done will be helpful. My good friend is pregnant with twins, and its her first, she is about 11 weeks. So if you want to ask me - to ask her anything I would be happy to.... :) Take Care.

Congradulations!!
You are truly blessed.I also have twin boys age 20years
and a 2yr old boy. There is a mother of twins group
in houston. I dont have there number though.
but you can exspect a total different preg. You will
feel movement pretty soon now.Your belly will get
bigger than you ever thought possable. It really is
quite fasinating.Eat well, get plenty of rest, and
have fun planning for there arrival. My twins came 3 weeks
early, but they were considered full term.Mother nature
has a way of getting them ready to come early.
Good luck and God Bless

Hi P.! Congratulations! I just had twins on Feb 8th, and actually my pregnancy was very similar to my first. I did grow alot faster, but I only gained an extra 10 lbs. compared to the first. At the end though it was the worst. I couldn't catch my breath alot since they were pushing into my diaphragm, and once they dropped it just hurt down there. But it was so incredible to carry 2 babies at once. They would move all over the place. I do think that in my case, having my dd helped with the pregnancy. I had to stay active and take care of her, so I think it made it easier. I don't know any good websites but I know there is multiple support groups that you can join.

Take care!

Congratulations. I have 4 year old twin girls. The one websitre I loved was twinstuff.com It is actually a message board also and all the ladies on there all so helpful and nice. They can always answer any questions you have no matter what they are. I also agree with getting yourself as prepared as possible beofre their arrival. It makes the transition so much better. If you need anything, just drop a message.

Hi P.,
I have boy/girl twins who are 6 1/2 . First, let me tell you that it is not as scary as you might think. The first thing I did was completely take care of myself during pregnancy. Many people will tell you that lots of twins are born premature, but that doesn't have to be the case. My twins were born full term at 6 lbs 6 oz. and 6 lbs. I drank a galloon of water or more a day, ate every 2 hours whether hungry or not, and ate like a health nut :).

Another piece of advice is get organized and prepared. I had everything labeled, put together and set up at 30 weeks...just in case. With twins, you don't want anymore surprises. I always overplanned, left the house 15 minutes earlier than necessary, etc. It was worth it to keep me calm and focused when they both blew up their diapers and outfits at the same time on an outing :). Also, ACCEPT HELP! This was hard for me because I am a type A personality....always in charge and control. NOT!! With twins, I galdly accepted the neighbors help when she took over for 2 hours so I could sleep. I learned real fast to turn those babies over and rest :) I also learned early to nurse them TOGETHER rather than seperately. It made life much easier for me.

The "What to Expect When Expecting" book has a section on multiples. Also, subscribe to TWINS magazine. It was an awesome resource for me. Read as much as you can but remember that just like your first child...MOM knows best. I had tons of moms of twins giving me advice as well and some of it worked well and lots of it wasn't for us. GOOD LUCK!!

Hi P.,
First of all congratulations!! You are in for a real treat! My name is P. & i have 8 month old fraternal twins. I actually did not find out i was having twins until i was 4 months pregnant. It was a big shocker. They are wonderful but alot of work. I do not have any kids prior so i did not have anything to compare them to. I am not going to lie or try to scare you but it is a tuff job. I had to quit working and be a full time stay at home mom. Just wait until they start crawling......its a nightmare!! J/k but they definatley keep you busy. I am lucky to have my mother who comes over still to this day to help out twice a week & a mother in law who comes down about every 2 weeks for a few days. I could always use the help because trust me, you will always need it. Well good luck & if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. Take care!!

Best wishes
P.
