P.K.
Both Whole Foods and Fox & Obel offer prepared Thanksgiving dinners. Both are great. I think Fox & Obel delivers too.
Good luck!
Hi mamas, my husband and I have to work all day on Thanksgiving so we won't be able to make a big turkey dinner. My in-laws are babysitting for us. I'd like to find a place in the area that has prepared meals for Thanksgiving. That way we can still celebrate with a turkey dinner and my in-laws can enjoy the day with the grandkids. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Boston Market, Jewel, Meijer, Domenicks, and really any grocery store might offer this. Good Luck and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, even if you have to work.
I just tried googling it and this is what I found:

Hopefully it helps!
Boston Market:) YUM.
OR Kroger.
Try your local grocery stores. The usually run specials on the complete meals. Krogers always has specials.
Honeybaked Ham Company
Check with your grocery store. Here, our local Giant has a full cooked turkey, 4 sides and trimmings for like $30.
Another option would be to cook the turkey on Wed. evening, and then just warm stuff up on Thurs.
Whole foods stuff is really yummy. We had it one year I was in hospital.
Just about any grocery store. You can pick it up when you want.
Yea for you, thinking of your family and providing a nice meal without making them cook it. You have your priorities right.
May the end of your day be filled with happy memories!
Sorry you and your husband have to work. Thanksgiving has always been a big family event for us. We had 28 of us two years ago at Grandma's and Grandpa's home.
Two of my favorite restaurants that accomidate families and have lots of dinner choices is Golden Corral and Old Country Buffet.
These are Golden Corral near you.

There were too many Old Country Buffets to list. The web says Home Town Buffet. Home Town Buffet is Old Country Buffet depending what part of the country you are in. http://www.hometownbuffet.com/locations
Good luck to you and yours.
There is a restaurant on base here where they do Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners. It's VERY affordable and yummy. They have different seatings, as early as 11 and as late as 6 I think. Maybe you can find a place like that.
we did Boston Market one year, it was TONS of work. You have to put this in at that time, and that at a different temp in at this other time, etc. I was dissappointed with how much work it ended up being and felt I may as well have cooked it all myself. The food tasted awesome but ...
I had a cooking class with Dave from Dave's Specialty Foods, a catering company, and if he did this I would go with him. Not sure he does though.
One year it was just going to be us for Thanksgiving so I ordered a complete meal from Peapod, the online grocery company. It was fantastic and so easy to heat up.
If you have a Bob Evan's Restaurant in your area, try them. My parents used them for the last 3 years for Holiday's and were very pleased.
My husband and I along with our two boys goes hunting on thanksgiving Day so we have been going to Cracker Barrel for Turkey dinner...excellent spread.
Grocery stores almost all do this--all the trimmings and a turkey AND desserts!
OR, if you have a favorite place to eat, call ahead & see if dinner can be ordered.
Another option--go out to eat! All of the yummy ness, none of the clean up!
My MIL insists on getting some meals from Safeway (which are pretty good - most can be microwaved to reheat) to not feel guilty about no longer cooking. So I would just call up your local store and ask what they have.
Many grocery stores are doing prepared meals. You might have to pick up the day before - I don't know.
Boston Market does a prepared meal
Not sure what's in Illinois. Sorry you have work!!!
In addition to the grocery stores, check around at some of your restaurants. We have a few that will deep fry a turkey for you. Not sure if they provide the side items as well... but you can get the whole meal essentially "catered" in a to-go set. You have to pre-order though.
Since my kids are all grown up, have jobs and other family members to spend their holidays with I do not try to spend holidays with them. We get together when their schedules permit. You can do Thanksgiving dinner on Friday or sometime on the weekend.
There are grocery stores who put together dinner. BUT..... the gravy is canned gravy, the whipped potatoes are frozen these dinners may taste good but can be very high in salt and my contain MSG and other ingredients that you do not want your family to have.
I prefer making a dinner on an alternate day and knowing what is in my food.
Not sure about where you live but our grocery stores (Safeway, Whole Foods) do these meals, and we have a Honey Baked Ham store and a local Hauf Brau that does them too.
Just make sure you order it ahead of time, and confirm exactly when you can pick up the food!
I second Honey Baked Ham--they have turkey too! Their sides are divine!!!
Our local grocery store is taking pre-orders for complete Thanksgiving meals. Have you checked your local markets?
Good Morning, we have done the Marie Calendar's holiday meal in the past. It is a very good complete meal and comes well packaged and ready to pop in the microwave or oven. If you do not have a Marie Calendars in your area, maybe another restraunt in your area will do the same; maybe check around.
Good luck and happy holidays!
One year my dad got everything at Dominicks. It was pretty good for already being prepared. Just make sure you place your order early! Also second Whole Foods. My sister always orders their prepared sides and they are always good.
