Hi! I am looking for a preschool for my active 3 year old for next year. He will just turn four by September and I want to take him to a really great program. I work and have another baby. I am looking at churches and schools, what are your recommendations? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My kids go to Minds in Motion in Springboro. We have been very happy with it. My son is in the pre-K this year and I have no doubt that he will be ready for Kindergarten next year. They also have a 1 day per week program for 18 months to 3 years, and a 2 or 3 day program for 3 and 4 year olds. All 3 teachers tha my kids have had are wonderful.

I take my son to the Goddard School on 747. It is GREAT. He is in the traditional preschool program which meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 to Noon. He really enjoys it and I really like the school, teachers, etc. I also looked at Cornerstone Christian Church also on 747, they have a good program but I wanted my son to go to school in the mornings and they could on get him in the afternoons. Good Luck!

S.,

In the Lebanon school district, there is a preschool that's part of the school system. We really liked it for my son last year, so we enrolled him again this year. He's very smart, so they are adding to the traditional curriculum to ensure that he stays challenged. Plus, we think it will make transitioning into kindergarten much easier since he will be with many of the same children.

You don't mention where you live, but even if you're not in the Lebanon district, you might want to check out the preschools in your school system.

Good luck!
P.

There is a really good preschool on Tylersville Road between Cincinnati Dayton Road and 747. It is the Lord of Life Christian Preschool, ###-###-####. It is play based which enriches learning. The school is also NAEYC accreditated (National Association for the Education of Young Children). It has a 3 day program, Mon, Wed, and Fri. Morning sessions are 9:15am-11:45am and 12:45pm-3:15pm. There is two teachers in each class and the ratio is 1:8. If you would like to hear more, please feel free to email me.

I teach at Liberty Hts. Weekday Preschool off of Princeton Rd. I am in my second year of teaching the younger two's.

Contact Sarah Burgraff at ###-###-####, or ____@____.com four year olds go 4- days a week. They bring in a snack each day vs. lunch as in last year. Many good lessons and activities follow the teachings of Jesus. They go to the church for a short time. (Just started this year). They also have someone coming in and meeting with the older classes for Spanish and French. They also have morning and afternoon classes.

Good Luck,

S. - My daughter just started the Kings Kids Program (located off Kings Mills Road - http://www.kingslocal.k12.oh.us - go to "Departments" on the top line; select "Childcare/Preschool"; select "Preschool & Preschool Childcare"). I highly suggest this preschool! They are WONDERFUL to the kids and they do offer preschool with daycare (I, like you, work full time and have another child). Even if you are not in the Kings school district (like us); they will take him if there are spots left (which it sounds like they usually do). I would call the office some time if January or February to check and see when registration is. The school is run by certified teachers (not just degreed people). Also, there is an option for a hot lunch and/or milk everyday that comes from one of the elementary schools (located across the street). Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!!!

Heritage Presbyterian Preschool at Tylersville and Mason-Montgomery Rd. They follow Mason school district, which has a cut off date of Sept. 30 to start school, so your kiddo should be good to go - even this year in the 3 yr. old room if they have an opening. Not sure if this is the part of town you are interested in.

I'm not sure where you live, but I take my son to the Countryside YMCA program in Lebanon. The school itself is located in a building where they have other classes for Lebanon school district. It is a really good program and this is the second year my son is in it. He really likes going and also likes his teachers. Hope this helps.

Hi, S. -

If you're not averse to Christian education, I can guarantee your son would LOVE King of Kings Lutheran, on Socialville-Foster/Columbia Road. This is my daughter's second year there and she absolutely loves it and learns a lot there. She enjoys her teachers and her classmates and always tells me what they did during their time. She learns songs and lessons for getting along with others in addition to curriculum. They also learn about caring for the world's people and the environment, so I am very happy with the programs there.

Take care,
H.
