Preschool Around Crowley, Burleson Area

My son's birthday is September 2 and will miss out to attend preschool since the deadline line is September 1st. I do not want him to miss out in preschool since it is important for him to go so that he can interact with other children and learn the beginning of following direction, colors, numbers, and etc. Does anyone know of a good preschool that will accept him even though he'll be 3, but turning 4 around that same day??

What can I do next?

Primrose School of Columbus Trail is an excellent pre-school/daycare. My son Isaiah went there when he was 4 yrs. old and they did wonders with him. He was not used to a large group of kids coming from a home daycare that only had 6 kids total. He was very shy and his teacher worked with him and brought him out. They found that music caught his attention and would sing the lessons to him and let him sing the answers back to her. He really loved it there.

This may be a little further out than you're looking for, but Southcliff offers an AWESOME preschool program. My daughter has been going there for 2 yrs and I started my son this yr in their mom's day out program. (They start at 18 mo, I believe) They get a pretty long waiting list, so I would act fast if you're thinking about looking in to them.
Just to let you know, we're putting our daughter in private school for kinder and Southwest Christian and Trinity Valley both have told us they specifically want kids 'graduating' from Southcliff b/c they are so far advanced. My daughter will be reading before school starts...
I have heard of several others that are great, but none right in the Crowley/ Burleson area.
Good luck!!

I recommend either Joshua Christian Academy (just outside Burleson on 174) or Crowley United Methodist Church near the new firehouse and library in Crowley. My son is 2 and he loves his school at Crowley United Methodist. Joshua Christian Academy doesn't accept kids until age 3 but they have a great school set up through 12th grade. Good Luck!

Try Harvest Christian School. It's on Crowley Rd just north of Alta Mesa. I know a couple of Moms that have sent their kids there and like it.

good luck with finding what you are looking for...however, just a quick opinion...my son is now 12 and in the 6th grade at Joshua...his bd is aug 30 so he is one of the late babies..my older daughter was in private school at the time my son was due to start kindergarten. We went ahead and started him even though he was the youngest. He had great social skills and I just knew he would be fine. He did OK in kindergarten but the teachers advised maybe holding him back as he was still struggling with the work..socially he was fine. However, we didn't hold back and sent him on to 1st..it was a battle with school work every day...the next year my daughter, who was in high school, decided she wanted to go to public schools so we transferred both kids to Joshua (and love it) my son started 2nd grade doing some work that he had already done in 1st grade in private school. I thought this would be a great opportunity to get him caught up academically but it wasn't. He hated school, I hated him and homework every night was a battle. We decided to hold him back in 2nd grade and he has done great every since. The maturity finally caught up with him on the academic level.
Just don't push too hard because it is so different than when I was in school. They learn so much more so much earlier. It can be a real struggle for the younger ones, especially little boys..
good luck..

Hi! My little guy went to First Babtist Church of Burleson program. He went to Pre K last year. He loved it so much and so did I. He went 5 days a week from 8-12. They also have other times too. If your little one is too young for Pre K they do have other programs that you can do a couple days a week or all week. Not sure how you feel about this part but to let you know they also have little Bible studys and chapel. My little one was ready for Kinder this year. They do feel up fast so make sure and give them a call to go in and take a tour and to just find out how they work. I think they have about 5 Pre K teahcers and they are all great. I would visit a couple of places and pick one you feel most comfortable with. Take your little one with you so they can see the place as well! Good luck!

My 15 year daughter goes to Nazarene Christian Academy. She started out the bunny room when she was 2 months old. She has had wonderful christian teachers. She has excellent study habits and has a 4.O grade point averaga as a Freshman. I can recomment the Training Depot very highly. Michelle Tate is the director. It is located on 1187 between Crowley and I - 35. Go check it out!

N., I will agree with a couple of the other ladies. My daughter attends the First United Methodist church on McAlister Rd. She is in the pre-k class 2 days a week. They do although take younger kids. I am a SAHM and it was difficult for me to put my youngest in a pre-k class since I didn't do so with my 6 year old son. I just wanted that last year before school to be for me. I love to spend every minute with my kids. But from the first day that I met the director, Mrs. Sharon I felt at ease. The teachers are wonderful as well. I'm so glad I put on in the class and she just loves it. (The price is great too)

We absolutely LOVE the preschool at Burleson First United Methodist! They are wonderful! He is going two days per week this year, but next year he will go five days. Miss Sharon and Miss Dawn are absolute gems. If you can't get in, get on the waiting list. The school is fabulous and the teachers are FANTASTIC! Good luck - we had such a hard time finding a good school here that we loved!

I just helped a friend try to find a preschool in OUR area and they are ostly all full!! She did find openings in Hallmark Baptist in Crowley. I occasionally take my son to Playtime, an hourly childcare off Alsbury. Last time I was there I saw they have opened a PDO on Tu & Th from 9 to 2. Don't quote me on the price, but it was around $100 a month!! Check there!! I have only been 5 times over 1 & 1/2 years and they always say a BIG, "Hello Jacob!!" when I bring my 2 & 1/2 year old in!! Good Luck!
