My daughter's (10 days old) Ped recommended we try either Nutramigen or Alimentum. I tried the Nutramigen 1st because it has probiotics and Alimentum doesn't.. However she is refusing the Nutramigen - she hates the taste....can't say i blame her.. It stinks...
So we are going to try Alimentum, but I want her to have probiotics for her immune system. Is there a good probiotic or prebiotic supplement (hopefully just once daily) out there that I can give her??
THANK YOU

I know a great children's multi that she could drink that contains probiotics, but she might be a little young for it. It is yummy citrus flavored. If you want to know about it, ask me and I will find out if she is too young or not.

I highly recommend and cannot say enough good things about the Garden of Life line. My entire family uses them and I have tried many. I am sure they have something for newborns. They carry this line at most local heath food stores. Most times his probiotic products are in the refrigerated section. Check out his website (link below) and talk with the people at the health food store.

Good luck!

Go to a natural foods store and they will have many, to choose from! The best probiotics are in the refrigerated vitamin section.

check out: http://www.nourishmd.com/store/probiotics. They have a probiotic for infants . Also, curious, how are you administering the probiotics? We just add it to whatever our kids are drinking. They can't even taste it.

If you are breastfeeding, babycakes doesn't need anything but you! Even if you are not breastfeeding, she will have some of your immunity for a bit. I agree with Ginny B.....it's not too late to still breastfeed your little sweety.

Can babies have yakult? it tastes good... Maybe ask a pharmacist or your doc if a watered down version would be ok. I drink one every day.

There is an excellent probiotic (it is in a pearl size pill form so probably should wait until she us a little older) and prebiotic (which is in a sweet tasting powder form. For information, go to http://search2.shaklee.com/?siteURL=bWFtYWJlYXI%3D&pw...

Probably have to copy and paste this website.

Both prebiotic and probiotic are once daily.

Good for you to know that having the prebiotic and probiotic are good for your baby.

Not sure why you're wanting to do this, A.. If you're breastfeeding (and it's not too late to gradually switch over), your baby is getting everything she needs for the first 6-8 months.
