It seems that ever since Costco discontinued their Kirkland brand cotton (blue package) baby wipes and changed over to the new Kirkland wipes made with Tenecel (which is a fiber and not cotton) my 18 month old daughter whines and complains when we have to change her diaper. AND seems to get more diaper rashes now?? Anyone else having this problem?
Ladies, I have not had a chance to log in in a while, so I wanted to take the time to thank you all for your posts. We did switch to pampers sensitive wipes and she no longer has any problems!
ONLY time my son has ever had a diaper rash was when I used crappy wipes. Try NatureBaby care.... not only do they not have synthetic materials, but use a natural moistener and they are biodegradeable.
Oh sure... in fact my son developed a sensitivity to a wipe that had changed formula, which turned really quickly into being sensitive to ALL wipes, when before he had been fine with any of them... and the more "hypoallergenic" or "natural" the wipes were supposed to be, the worse he got. And we're talking he was having bleeding yeast infections on his bum before we figured out what the problem was on accident.
So we went uber-cheap/natural ;) and used wet papertowels.
Side benefit (aside from saving money)? I could use warm water to get the papertowels wet.
My son (2.5 yrs) hasn't complained about the new wipes. He has pretty sensitive skin and really bad eczema, but I haven't noticed any new rashes in the diaper area. I wish they hadn't changed them though - I loved the old wipes.
Yes, one of my kids had a reaction to the Kirkland ones and the CVS brand ones. We never bought either but would happen to use them when accidents would occur at other people's houses,etc and that was all they had for their kids. She never reacted to any other brands except for those.
Yes, I think my daughter had a reaction to them as well. At least that is the only thing we changed when we started potty training and she got a rash between her legs. We stopped using them and went back to the Pampers Sensitive brand and slowly the rash lessened. But... I am a mom of convenience (ha) and I have a tub of them on the kitchen table at all times, for all kinds of wipe-ups and both daughters have NOT had any problems on their face or hands. Hmmm? I did like the old ones better. We put the package in a decorated Pampers tub to look nice and it seems like every 10 wipes or so, I'm digging in the container trying to get the wipes to pull up again. Ahhh, if that was the only problem in life! Ha Ha. Good luck with getting your daughter better and let us all know if you find a good and cheap alternative!
