Ugh, I completely feel his pain. I have had psoriasis for years. Some people get it in a few spots and some of us get it ALL OVER. It can be miserable! I used to take Remicade injections as well last year....then, much like your boyfriend, they just stopped working. My doctor says it isn't uncommon for that to happen because your body builds up immunity to the drug over time.
When the Remicade became ineffective, she switched me to Humira. I've been taking it since January and I am almost 100% clear!! Has your boyfriend done other biologic medicines before, or was Remicade his first one. If not, he needs to talk to his doctor about trying something else. I am a very BIG proponent of Humira now....not only because it has helped me so much, but because they have a fantastic program that helps you pay for it and it's not based on income, so anyone qualifies (I pay $5 a month).
I don't know how long your boyfriend has been using the cream, but it does take some time for it to work. I had the cream for that area as well and it look a little bit, but it did work.
By the way....I think you are wonderful to be so supportive of him. Psoriasis is not only physically painful at times, but it can be emotionally painful to. Having red, scaly patches all over your skin can bruise your self-esteem! Sounds like he's lucky to have such and understanding girlfriend!
