try cat litter they use it in garages to soak up motor oil. but pretty much that area is done you may need to cut it out
I keep my deep fryer in the pantry floor. My 4 year old used it as a step-stool and spilled the oil ALL in the carpet. It's soaked! How on Earth can I get all this oil up?? Help!!

cornstarch!!!!!!!!1 works wonders cover and let it sit there about 30 minute
repeat until its gone:)
I like Koren's suggestion about the kitty litter for the bulk of the oil. After that, I was going to suggest cleaning it with a diluted solution of Dawn dish soap. It cuts grease better than anything I know. I would get a carpet cleaner out ASAP too. Not a rental one but a professional who knows all the tricks.
If all else fails, it is probably covered under your Homeowners Insurance. Keep receipts for everything you pay for so it can be applied towards your deductible.
Good luck.
Hopeufully you have some remnants and can have it professionall cut out and patched. I can't imagine the odor from that as it sits.
Good luck.
I saw somthing at walmart yesterday-this product cam in a clear plastic spray bottle, the name of the product began with the letter "A"-the color of the product was pale amber-and I think it had a re sprayer and red lettering-it claimed to remove everything! Sorry I can't think of the name! If you have a carpet remnant-it would be easier to cut out the oliy part and replace it-even if it isn't a perfect match! Good luck!
Try cornmeal over the area. Rub it in well and let sit for about an hour, then vacuum.
B., please call a professional for this. The exact same thing happened to me and nothing I did fixed it. Possibly made it worse and the foot wide radius never came out. We had to put a rug on top of it to hide it from then on.
So sorry.
