Dealing with thyroid problems is a pain. I take synthroid every day and don't notice any "issues" as a result. Everything else I deal with naturally. The thyroid though is a whole other story.
Hope that helps.

I was recently diagnosed with a hyperactive thyroid. My levels are way off, as well as my thyroid is quite enlarged. This was discoverd by at my yearly OBGYN check up by fluke thing. Apparently, I have been pacifing my symptoms as just being a busy mother of 2! I went to see a very reputable endocronologist through Beaumont, and he proposed me with 2 choices.
1) I can take anti-thyroid medication to treat my symptoms - but not the actual thyroid. Yet, this drug comes with many side effects that could be very detrimental!
2) Taking the radioactive iodine treatment, which will shrink my thyroid and make it and all of its function go away over a 2 month time period. This would force me in to hypothyroidism, and then I would take synthroid every day.
Regardless, it looks like I will have to take some sort of pill every day. Just wondering if anyone has any alternative treatment or is they have experienced any of the listed above. Pro's and Con's would be very helpful!
Thank you!!

I have 2 friends who had the radioactive treatment, so they no longer have a thyroid. I have the other (hypothyroid) so I take synthroid daily as well. I have no problems NOW that I am on the drug. It is a miracle, and we are lucky to live in a day and age where there are such drugs. I do not understand why people seek alternatives. There is a reason such drugs exist. Please do not feel hesitant to use it.
I have a sister and brother who went through the Iodine treatment. I don't think a lot of people realize, how important our thyroid is.
I am not a doctor and do not treat or diagnose people. I do have a health and wellness business and truly love helping other people. If you want to talk about this and see what I have to offer, email me with the best time and day to call you.
Have a wonderful day!
