Hi! I am SO lucky and have 13-year-old twin girls who live next door to me who want to be mother's helpers this summer. My little girl is almost 2. What's the going rate nowadays for mother's helpers? What about babysitters?

Thank you!

So What Happened?

Thank you for your responses! It's good to have a sense of what the average wage is for babysitters these days.

I pay my highschool babysitters $8/hr for one 2yr old. I agree that college aged people who drive and have qualifications should get more, but I would think that a 13 yr old mother's helper should get about $5/hour.

I have only used a few sitters, never a mother's helper, but the going sitter rate seems to be $10-$12/hour depending on the ages and how many children you have.

I am not sure about mother's helper but I pay my college aged babysitter $10 an hour for a 3 yr old and a 7 mo. old. She gave me her price when I asked her to babysit. Hope this helps some.

Hello,
I have a 18 month old and a 2 1/2 year old and I really wanted someone who knows CPR and First Aid and who has a car, we pay her $12 an hour. She is a elementary Ed major in college and very reliable. I hope this helps
