I have lived in Fountain Valley for a little over a year and I am having a hard time settling in. We are from San Clemente and all our friends and family are there so needless to say I do a lot of traveling to and from. Plus my oldest, Shane goes to preschool at Saddleback college Child Development Center (GREAT school...plus my mom is a teacher there). So with gas prices these days I think its time to find a closer preschool for fall as both boys will be going (considering Orange Coasts college's preschool in Costa Mesa).
My husband works for AAA here in Costa Mesa so thats why we moved to Fountain Valley. We live in a great neighborhood but I have not reached out to make new friends or anything. Always thinking we were going to move back to SC but we are now looking to buy up here so I really do want to make friends and learn about schools and all that good stuff! Time to settle in :)
I have two boys, Shane is 4 and Chase is 2.5 yrs. It would be nice to find some mom's in this area that can set up play dates etc. :)
Any guidance to playgroups, good schools (preschools), summer programs, anything really. And of course a new friendship for me wouldn't hurt! :)
Have a great weekend Mom's!

Thank you ladies for your guidance to moms groups in my area and all the great information you passed on about local schools, it has really been a big help in my search. I really appreciate you all! Thank you!
Hi J.,
I just moved to HB 6months ago and found some amazing moms groups through meetup.com You might wanna check out one group the Fun Moms of HB http://moms.meetup.com/1488/ --we've got moms from HB, Anaheim and FV. Most of the kids are your kids' ages. It's a laidback group. Check it out and email Renee who is an awesome organizer.
See you around,
Hi J.! We are also in the fountain valley area, and my son (almost 4 and my baby) goes to a preschool in Costa Mesa. I have been very happy with it this year, and he will continue there next year as well. I would love to give you more info, although it sometimes is sorta tough to get in. Please feel free to email me with questions... ____@____.com

I'm in Irvine so I;m not to much help. One of my best friends took her kids to Orange Coasts college's preschool in Costa Mesa. She LOVED it. I am not sure how it compares to Saddleback. I do know that I was happy in Foothill Ranch then here in Irvine. I guess I just like farther South County better. Good luck to you. :)
My kids went to Saddleback last year and the year before--I love it as well. This may seem like a random response but I will give it anyway. We live in laguna Niguel and my husband works in Newport Coast. He commutes up the toll road (OK I know it's pricey but there is really no other way for him to get to work reasonably). It only takes him about 15 minutes. If you aren't feeling the love in north county why not find a place in between SC and CM? Just a thought. We love LN and it was very easy for me to find other moms and stuff when I moved here and my kids were 3.5-after a miserable year in the South Bay where I made no friends. Love to hear back from you on what you decide! C. Morgan
