I need a good carpet cleaning specialist. Someone that specializes in pet messes and also can take care of the like certain areas of the carpet where my grandbabies seem to be able to track the most dirt into or spill onto. You know, I think we all have that certain spot that if something is going to spill or get broken or knocked over it's going to be that one spot. But back to the question. I asked this before and I got a couple of suggestions from you guys but my gosh, I sure didn't expect to pay $400 to $500 to have 3 bedrooms and a living room cleaned. Am I just living in a dream world? Is it really that expensive to clean carpets and try to get someone that does a good job? If you have any ideas, any suggestions, comments or just tell me it's gonna cost you $500 to clean those carpets then I will at least be better prepared. Thank you ladies for coming thru for me again.

I have used Caldwell sharper cleaners for my home & businesses for the last 3 years. They are a family owned company that do a fantastic job & are very reasonable. Their phone is ###-###-####. They also specialize in upholstery, grout cleaning & rug cleaning.

I've had commercial people come in before and yes you spend a good chunk of money. When they leave, it looks great but not too long afterwards, the stains start creeping back. At the same time, when they are are your home, they try to sell you all kinds of upgrades.

I personally decided to do it myself because no one cared about my carpets more than me PLUS I don't get anyone else's dirt/gunk in my house.

I bought a Bissell Pro Heat ( I have the red one) for about $275 and a container of Hoover cleaner is about $22 and a concentrate. I LOVE this carpet machine. You put hot water in it and it has a water heater on board to keep the water hot.

We use our cleaner fairly often in high traffic areas. I have 3 dogs.

It is worth it to use to invest in a good machine and do it ourselves.

I bought a Bissell carpet cleaner at Target (the middle priced one) and it is PHENOMENAL!!!!! It does a better job on the countless men I have had out here to clean pet stains. For once my HOUSE DOES NOT SMELL!
I'm telling you, do not walk, RUN out and buy one!! When I was at the checkout I had 3 women telling me how they loved theirs.....ok, so what I'm thinking to myself. OH EM GEE they were so spot on!!! The only drawback is that the container does not fold much water, so I can only do a 3 x 3 or 5 x 5 area before I have to change the water. You can vacuum TWICE before you shampoo and the Bissell will STILL pick up pet hair you didn't know you had!!

I dated a guy in Tx that worked for Dalworth, they did a good job on my place. He did it for free *perks* but I know it is reasonable, I had him come in because my sister's cat had some accidents so I know it works well on pet odors. And yes, if you want it done right, it will cost you.

Call All Star Carpet at ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. I work for a property manager and I can say that this company has worked magic on carpet that I thought was long gone. Their prices are also better than other companies, but call and tell them what you are needing and I'm sure he'll give you a price over the phone. Tell him T. w/ A&W sent you. :) Good luck!

I used Doug's Mighty Clean, www.dougsmightyclean.com. They did a great job on our dog stains. I was very happy with them and they did over 2000 sq ft of carpets for $240. We did get our carpets stretched at the same time, so I don't know if we got a deal on the cleaning. But we got them stretched and cleaned or $800.

I would only recommend ZeroRez. They will get your stains out best, use safe products, and the old stains will not come back because there is no residue. I used them a few years ago, tried different cleaners in between, and none cleaned as well. The last time, I used someone who I thought was going to be less expensive and quicker to book that a friend recommended. That was in January, and I had to have the carpet cleaned again yesterday. I realized ZeroRez was the best and it was actually the same price as the other guy. We have a small home( 3 bedrooms, 1 living area and small hallways), so we paid $107. Oh and if my schedule had been more flexible, they could have been out the day after I called. Good luck!

Hey M.!! I have lived in Texas for 7 years now and have used Cornerstone Chem Dry twice a year every year to keep my carpets clean and looking good. I have 2 young boys (5 and 6), 2 dogs and 3 cats. I definately need them a lot. Once of my cats has a tendancy to act up and pee in my dining room. They always get the smell out and my carpets always look fabulous.

Give them a call (they are not one of the cheap places that advertizes 3 rooms for $10 and free return trips), but, they charge a fair price for the work they do!!

Here's their info:

PS - they did MAGIC on my grout last year!!
