West KNoxville is very convenient and a really nice place to live in - I used to live in the apartment complex called Londontown ( right now they are doing some building on Weisgarber which makes the traffic horrendous but hopefully that should be over soon )
The also have a nice Unitarian Church in KNoxville

I would recommend the West Hills area. My children and I moved to the area 2 years ago. We quickly found a nice sized 3br/2 bath apartment, which with references did not require a deposit. We are located less than a mile from West Hills Elementary and Bearden Middle School. There are several bus stops within short walking distance. The Mall and several other shopping centers as well as grocery and convenience stores are located within a few miles.

You may try contacting KCDC in KNoxville. They help single parents find suitable housing based on your income. If they can't help, they may be able to point you in the right direction. There are tons of apartments and houses located on the bus lines and convient to all the things you need. Good LUck!!!

Hey and welcome to Knoxville!

This area has been redone and the houses are newer. Steer clear of Christenberry Heights. If Wendy Williams still works for KCDC she is the nicest person on the planet and would be a wonderful help in finding your new home. Best of luck!
