Woodlands West apts 2BR are currently 600/month. I just moved from there and its a very nice community, and its in West Knoxville, so good schools and close to everything.
Hi. I'm moving to Knoxville this summer. Can everyone give me some advice on where to live? I'm fresh out of law school, so I'm flat broke! I need a place to rent that isn't more than about $600 a month. Any ideas? I want somewhere with decent schools. I know West Knoxville is supposed to be the best area, but I'm not sure I can afford it. Does anyone have any idea about other areas around Knoxville like Maryville, Starwberry Plains, etc?
Thanks! - D.

D.,
I cannot help you with houses to rent, but I live in North Knoxville - Halls area to be exact. Halls is a great community, and the school (elem-high) are a great, less expensive alternative to west Knoxville.
Welcome home!

Hey, first, congrats on finishing your law degree. Finding someplace in Knoxville for $600 can be hard, but you can do it. West Knoxville is the most expensive part of town, and traffic can be a night mare. There are lots of buisnesses, etc in that part of town. However, there are plenty of great places to look. I live in Halls and you can find great houses in Powell, but you can't always find apartments. There are a lot of apartments along Merchants Drive. Ft. City has a great, small town kind of feel. Strawberry Plains is actually kind of far from Knoxville. It really all depends are what you are looking for. Good luck with your house search
Hi, West knoxville is a pretty good place to live, I live a bit more west of west knoxville in Lenoir City, but it is only 2 miles from farrgut and I love it here, its getting to be like a smaller version of knoxville though, but we have some great schools 3 different elementary 2 different middle and 1 high school. Farrgut I think has a decent elementary, middle, and high school, never really heard much about it though. I hope you have a safe and sound move. And I hope you find a great place to live.. if I ever need a lawyer I will look ya up.
