I must say I love Mason schools!! I have two boys in the school district and one more to be starting in a few years. You can check out this site that compares schools. http://www.greatschools.net/
I am trying to find out some information about school districts. We have 3 small children who will start school soon & want to move to a good public school district. We are looking into Mason and Kings but don't have much information on either. I know that one is huge (Mason) but probably has a lot to offer.
If anyone has any information or personal experiences with either of these school districts, I would love to hear what you have to say.
Thanks for your help!

I actually am a teacher at Kings High School, but live in Mason. My husband and I are moving to Kings because of the excellence of the district and the size of Mason. I used to teach at Sycamore High School and Kings has impressed us out of all three of them because of how much the community supports EVERY event the school holds, no matter the ages. If you have specific questions, I would be more than happy to answer what I can. Also, each grade is around 250 kids, where Mason is around 1100 roughly. So, more personal attention with teachers and students have the opportunity to know the majority of their classmates, which helps build strong friendships. Let me know if I can help!
We live in the Kings school district and wouldn't move out for the world. Our children attend JF Burns Elementary and the staff at that school is the most caring professional group of people I have ever been around. Both of our children have special needs and the school has been WONDERFUL about meeting their needs and working hard to make sure that they have positive educational experiences. Kings is not as big, so the one on one attention is able to be there, but it is big enough that there are plenty of programs and opportunities for the children. Hope that helps. It really is a wonderful community and school to be a part of. :)
You can go online and check the state's website for information about any school district in the state at http://ilrc.ode.state.oh.us/Districts/Default.asp. I am a REALTOR and refer buyers to it regulary - in order to get an unbiased opinion.
Hi there, I just came across your post from almost 10 years ago and am wondering what decision you made? I am in the same boat right now and although we live in Mason, we are considering a move to either Kings or Sycamore due to the size of Mason. I have no idea if you will get this or not since it was so long ago, but any feedback would be so appreciated.
Hi M..
We're in Kings, and do not have children old enough for school yet...however, my father works for Kings Schools, and with what I have learned from him, I would never consider moving., There really is something to be said about a smaller district. One that infact has very little room for more housing. It will stay small, and over crowding won't become an issue. Mason is having issues with overcrowding now, and it can't get any better with all the new construction. It seems like it's never ending. I was told by a parent a few years ago, that their daughter who was in 3rd grade, had half 3rd graders and half 4th graders in her classroom because a new building wasn't ready yet. My biggest reason for wanting to stay in a small ditrict is sports/activies. In a school like Mason or Lakota, if you aren't one of the best, forget ever getting onto a football or basball team, etc. For some, that may seem like a shallow reason, but I for one, don't want my children broken hearted. In a school like Kings or little miami, those issues aren't a thought!!!
