I have two in uniforms.
I find Target to have the best selection and pricing. Sear's also carries uniforms. I am pretty much anti-Walmart but would bet on them having them.
Hi,
My daughter is starting Pre-K in the Fall at a private school that has a dress code. I'm wondering how many outfits I need and where is a good store to buy them? She's allowed to wear navy twill or corduroy pants, navy jumper, navy walking shorts, navy culottes, navy sweater, navy sweatshirts w or w/o the school emblem. She has to wear a white shirt with a collar. The shirt can be long or short sleeved and she can wear a turtleneck.
I'm thinking I need at least six complete outfits to make it through the week without having to worry about laundry. Does anyone know a store that sells school uniforms?
Thanks for your help!

Hello, I'm not sure where you live but there is a uniform store by the Ross Park mall...if your coming from the cranberry/wexford area it the first mall enterance...if your coming from pittsburgh it would be the second ,all enterance. It is called schoolbelles. also pennys, sears, waltmart and target usually have some things too.....Good Luck :)

My first suggestion is to check with the school to find out if they have a specific dress code as far as the colors, plaids, etc. My kids go to a catholic school that has specific colors, and the main uniform store for them is School Belles by Ross Park Mall. I have to get my daughter's plaid and solid jumpers and skirts from there, as well as any monogrammed stuff the kids may want. But the school isn't strict as far as the plain colored shirts and pants, so I buy polo shirts that look just like the uniforms store's at JC Penney, Wal-Mart, and Target. As far as the number, 6 sounds like a good number. I can usually get away with 5 sets because every Monday they have gym and wear their gym uniform.
The Land's End catalog just came out with the new line of school uniforms. They are competitively priced and adorable. The website is easily navigated as well.I purchased with 10%off and free shipping. Good Luck!
Hi R.,
How adorable! I wish I could wear a uniform! LOL
I think that 6 outfits would be plenty! I'd probably get less. I'd peobably get 2 pants, a skirt and a jumper, sweatshirt, sweater and 2 short sleeve & 2 long sleeved tops. I'm sure you can do a load mid-week and since the colors are basic it would be pretty easy. I know that Target sells "uniform" type separates, as does Value City. You could try Land's End online too! Personally I would but decent quality but not too expensive b/c she will outgrow quickly!
I have boys and they wear uniforms. I love uniforms, and the good news is now you can buy them almost anywhere.
My boys are hard on the pants (alot of holes in the pants) and I find that the GAP pants are the best. As far as the shirts, I buy the GAP, Old Navy, The Childrens Place. Talbots Kids have really nice ones. On line you can go to French Toast. I have tried buying less expensive, like Wal-Mart, K-Mart. But it is worth it to spend the extra in the beginning, because they do wash nicer, last longer, and honestly just look plain better.
I forgot to mention that even the department stores have a huge selection.
Good Luck
Walmart already has school uniform seperates out. You can also get uniform seperates at JCPenny's or their catolouge. I would buy at least 8 shirts (keeping at least two put away) in case of stains. Good luck!
burlinton coat factory has a big school uniform section. At least the one behind Monroeville Mall does. Call the store closest to you and confirm if they also carry school uniforms
R.,
I know that Target has a nice section in their kid's clothes for basic items - like you mentioned - that will work for uniforms. Try there and I would also suggest a store on McKnight Road, by Ross Park Mall. I think it is called Schools Bells or School Uniforms?
Good luck!

I buy my childrens jumpers, skorts/skirts, and pants at Gap Kids because they last forever. I still have some of my older daughters uniforms that still look perfect. Depending upon what type of shirt she has to wear polo, button up, peterpan collar, pointed collar...you can get them at Kohls, Walmart, Target, Old Navy. (If she needs peterpan collar polos, I've only found them at Target.) Also Old Navy is having a big sale on uniforms right now.
