Ok Moms, my daughter is starting first grade at a new charter schoool in Fort Worth, and this will be the first year buying uniforms. Where is the best place to shop school uniforms. I am looking more for quality than price! Or rather the best quality for the price. Someone told me Academy has good quality, but I haven't been there yet. I was hoping to take advantage of tax-free weekend! My sister in law said she heard Levines is the best, but my husband said their stuff is low quality! I appreciate any input!

What can I do next?

We bought my daughters uniforms at Parkers on I30 near Oakmont.
Her uniforms held up great!

Don't Forget the Children's Place. We have really good luck with the uniforms we get from there. Also we like the ones that Kohl's and Academy carries. Also look at the Gap's website- I have been able to get shirt for between 3 and 6 dollars.

Good luck!

UTW was the first uniform store started in Fort Worth and is located off Granbury Road and I-20 in a shopping center. She carries all of the private school uniforms and all the other school uniforms. Her things are quality and are a good price. She started out with children's clothing store many years ago called Under the Wall, thus UTW. You can also order on line. Her name is Jan. I bought both of my kids clothes there for school for many years and they lasted the entire year and even longer. My daughter was able to wear her jumpers all through HS because she had basically stopped growing and only got taller.

I've heard Gap or Gymboree are good because they last a long time (worth paying the higher price than the discount places). Plus, we need pants with the elastic tabs in the waist because my little guy is tall but slim so the elastic tabs have growing room built in. (Gymboree is one of the stores that has those types of pants.) One of my friends does the tax free weekend shopping, but she goes really early in the morning on the first day (Friday). She says the crowds aren't so bad then.

Happy shopping!

I shop at Academy for school uniforms. They have great prices and my daughter is still going to be able to wear some of again this year. I would avoid tax-free weekend though. It's not worth it to have to fight their crowds!

We shop at Academy, Target, and Kid to kid (resale shop that sales NEW uniforms along with used). I feel the prices are better at Academy but each place offers different items and styles. My youngest daughter is 5 and going to start Kindergarten. She is very tiny and Academy was the only place I was able to find a uniform in the size 2. I also referred friend this year with size issues to Academy and she said that is the only place she will shop for her two kids from now on. We also prefer the polo shirts from Target. Old Navy is also an occasional stop for us; the uniforms are within the price range of other stores.
Hope this helps...
Good luck!
