Scrapbooking Ideas for Cards

I did 2 thngs with mine. 1--the cards that weren't that sentimental to me, I used by cutting out the pictures/clip art on the cards and used them as stickers. The other thing that I did was to create a "scrapbook" box. I decorated the box with my son's birth information and scrapbook paper, etc. Then I cut put all the bigger items about his birth into it.

I would save the ones that matter and toss the others.

Cut out the images/poems/handwritten notes of those you really like and use those. Use these in your baby's scrapbook.

Before you cut and take them apart, lay them all together flat and take a picture of them. Put that picture in your scrapbook.

That way, you remember the quantity and nice feelings of them, without having to tote them all around.

I am an avid scrapbooker and what I would suggest is to sign up for an open crop at a local scrapbooking store (a crop where they aren't doing any particular projects). The ladies who own or work at the store and the others who are there cropping will provide you with a wealth of information and experience that you'll never find in a book. This is how I got started and every time I go I get more and more ideas.

I'm new to the scrapbook stuff, but one page that really turned out great was for cards. Mine was cards when my son was born, but you can choose the patterns/colors for your individual project. I took a full size page with different colors/sizes of handprints. Then I took another page of solid blue and cut it so that it was a little more than half a page (to be used as a pocket). At Michaels they have this tape that's sticky on both sides, but thick like foam, which I used to attach the blue paper to the full sized one with handprints. That makes a pocket. Then I cut a strip of another cute paper and glued it onto the top of the blue pocket, just for added color. The cards fit into the pocket, and I cut the 3D stroller off a giftbag and attached it to the page, with the date and event that the cards were for.

There are lots of things you can do with cards in scrapbooks... one thing is to cut the elements off the cards taht you like and somehow incorporate them into a page together... but since some are cute and some are generic.. some are nice..some are elegant... it'd be hard to make them all "gel" on one page.. have you thought of maybe just incorporating a pocket on a page that you just slip them into? You could get a small box and decoupage that with scrap paper and just keep them intact, all together and on display but not "out"... ???
