P.K.
Bring your own food.
Hi all,
So I'm learning that the Sea World in San Antonio is not a park that is open year round. They are currently closed, only to reopen on 2/4 for limited weekends only through May. I'm wondering if any of you have been to this particular Sea World particulary with a child that has food allergies? I'm looking to find out if the restaurants on site are able to cater to food allergies or do you have to leave the park to eat? Also, is there any surrounding restaurants if we need to leave (or even a Whole Foods or other natural market) that caters really well to food allergy sufferers?
TIA!
Bring your own food.
I haven't been there, but I have been to Sea World in San Diego. The restaurant we ate at in the park was able to provide me with a binder containing all of the ingredients for every item that restaurant served. It was very helpful in figuring out what my son could and couldn't eat. He is allergic to dairy, eggs and nuts and I was able to find food there for him.
However, I always bring a full meal for him into any theme park, restaurant, or anywhere else I've never been before if I'm not 100% sure in advance that they can provide a safe meal for him.
You should be able to call in advance and find out if the San Antonio restaurants provide similar info.
I would pack food for the allergic child
We went last May. I would not recommend eating there with food allergies. Everything is laid out in a buffet style. The first day there we spent over 100$ between eating and drinking because they say NO coolers. We saw plenty of people with coolers. We asked, they said as long as you dont bring juice boxes with straws and such then they are ok with the coolers. There is an HEB grocery store on pretty much every corner. HTH!
I would first look at their website to see. Next I'd email the park to see what is served where and what the ingredients are for those items. I would assume that a park that large would have all that information readily available. We went to Sesame Place (an amusement park in PA) this summer and I was SHOCKED at the amount of information they were able to provide me and alternate food choices they were able to offer. It was wonderful!! If you're planning to go soon email or call them right away! This is what I found on Sea World San Antonio's website.

We don't suffer from food allergies, but we eat healthy, organic foods- therefore, we bring our own food to places like that. Just designate a back-pack for the food. Problem solved.
