Second Hand Boys Clothes

I've heard from my muli-kid mom friends that second-hand boys pants are hard to come by when they hit about size 4/5 in the pants. Shirts are okay, but after 4 or 5, the pants get all ratty in the knees, so buying used may be difficult.

Do you know any parents of multiple kids? You'd be surprised how many keep old clothing and might be willing to give you some to help out if their kids don't fit into them anymore.

Also, if money's tight, you might want to buy a size up so the clothes last longer. Or see if a friend has a kid who's outgrown their stuff

but in addition to what's been suggested, I'd check out every single discount rack I could find. I found a couple of shirts at Carters for 50 cents a couple of weeks ago and I was amazed. Especially with it being the middle of summer, a lot of stores are trying to get rid of their summer inventory.

Garage Sales! Also, on Craigslist I tend to find a lot more girls clothes than boys for sale, but it's usually after I've gone out an bought else where that someone posts what I'm looking for!

Try Once Upon a Child. There's 1 in Southfield, Canton, Rochester, and Ann Arbor that I know of. They are having $1 clearance now on summer clothes.

free cycle. You can get darn near anything you need/want on there. I think it's www.freecycle.org and then you can pick your city/county.

salvation army some stores are great.. others horrible.. value world thrift stores.. the one in warren has great stuff.

buy clothes by a "lot" on craigslist...

there are always postings of boys and girsl clothes..

Did you try Salvation Army or mom2mom sales ? Usually the clothes are very inexpensive there.

Try a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. An option if you want to get some value out of all the money you spent instead of flat out donating. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.
