Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knows of second hand clothing stores in the Elgin area that take and sell children's clothing and maybe toys as well? I just found out on Sunday that Once Upon a Child in Dundee recently closed and when trying to look up the location in Streamwood that store is not listed on the website any more either.

7/22 Ok this is what really happened. I checked out their website which said drop off was only between 10am - noon. So I drove all the way from Elgin to LITH, found the place ok, got there at 10:20am and the lady behind the desk told me since Once Upon a child closed they have to much, they will be calling customers to take their stuff back and no she would not even look at my things no matter how far I just drove. I had some real nice Gap/Lauren/Polo, etc. shirts and some new with tag clothes in my box.
Needless to say I was disappointed to have wasted my time to pack all in the trunk, organize it for quick assessment and drive over there.
I was so glad to hear that this store existed, but I will not be going back there.

7/21 Thanks Sarah, that seems to be just what I am looking for. Thanks to the other Mom's too, but Goodwill etc. - although a great place to shop- does not buy the clothes from you.

There is a Kids 2nd Wardrobe in Lake in the Hills right off of Randall Road. It's not too far from Elgin, maybe 15 minutes North of Randall and I90.
Ebay is the best. You can buy clothes in lots. I bought an entire summer wardrobe for my daughter for $35 including shipping.
You can also sell your old stuff and make some extra $$ so you can buy the new stuff...
If you are looking to buy clothing, there is Good Cents in Geneva on Main Street or your local Goodwill. Good Cents strictly sell kids clothes, toys (books and videos/DVD...)
In case you are still looking, there is a place in downtown Geneva which is only 15-20 min from Elgin called Good Cents and is children's consignment and clothing. It has been around for nearly 20 yrs.
