Dr. Elvove in Libertyville. He's a family practice doc, but very very open to all you suggested. He's really nice, too, and will NOT push extra stuff on you. He will also listen to all you say and really takes his time with each patient.
Hi,
Can anyone suggest a really great pediatrician? I will be having my first child in September and need to pick out a doctor. I'd like someone that is really current on the newest trends including limiting vaccines and use of antibiotics. Also, a doctor that has time for questions after the check-up's. Thanks!! J.

Dr Arie Friedman. He has offices in Lincolnshire and Gurnee. The staff is also great. When I call they know exactly who I am without having to look it up.
They are thorough and I feel as though nothing has ever been missed. They are very up on the new treatments etc. I would definitely at least interview them. Dr Openheim, his partner just saw my son for the first time and I liked him just as much.
Like you said, I wanted someone who would care to hear everything and not rush. I have never felt rushed and even better, never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room :)
Their Lincolnshire number is ###-###-####
Congratulations!

our dr is actually in vernon hills but she is wonderful! we have seen 3 different dr's prior to finding her and she is the best! she is very open to limiting vaccines and will only perscribe antibiotics when abs. necessary, she has a wait and see attitude in regards to that. her name is sheri lippmann and she is out of northshore health systems, the number for her office is ###-###-####. hope this helps!
We have been seeing Dr. Asok Phadke in Lindenhurst for the past 13 years. ###-###-####,2031 East Grand Ave, Suite 200, Lindenhurst, IL 60046, corner of Grand and Granada by R. J.'s Eattery and the State Banks of the Lakes and CVS accoss the street) He is abosolutly the best. His staff is great. You are a person and not just a number. They see you with in 10-15 minutes of your appointment time. They have great hours Mon-Sat. and walk in times for sick children and a rash room for really sick children so you don't have to sit in the waiting room with others. In the middle of the night or for an emergency they have always called me within 5 minutes of my phone call no matter what time of day of night or weekend. After I had my twins now almost ll years ago...Dr. Phadke asked me how I was doing. Really "How are you?...Do you have any questions or issues I can help you with?". What doctor takes the time to ask the parent how they are doing. I have had to go to other peds when our insurance changed. I was not happy with anyone else. And when the other peds were to busy to see us or didn't take our concerns to heart Dr. Phadke allowed our children to been seen immediately by him and his staff and only charged us a small portion or the usual bill. When we were having money issues and needed meds for the kids they provided us with samples so we didn't have to spend any extra cash out of our small budget. They are such wonderful people and doctors. Please give them a call to set up an appointment to meet them. You will not be disappointed. Also Dr. Phadke is not one of those doctors who believe in giving out the newest and lastest vaccines until the reseach has been given a chance to set in. And tried and true results had been documented before he suggest using them for his patients.
Good Luck with your search.

I love my daughter's pediatrician. Actually, I love the whole office staff.
Dr. Tim Samelson
6440 Grand Ave
Garden Pediatrics
Gurnee, IL
He will sit there and talk to you about your child's development for at LEAST 30 min after he has done the check-up. He will also give you reading material to take home about what to expect over the next few months. He has given me sleep tip's for for getting my daughter to bed, and they have actually WORKED! He has children himself, so maybe this is why is so great!! When my daughter was sick a couple months ago, he actually called (twice) to see how she was doing. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor.
We use Dr. Larry Davis. He has offices in Antioch and Libertyville. There are two other doctors in the practice and they are very good as well. The practice is Willow Oak Pediatrics. We have seen him since my 6 year old was born. They also have "sick" hours in both offices and Saturday appointments available. The numbers are ###-###-#### and ###-###-####. All of the doctors take time to answer all questions that I have. I cannot say enough about them.
We use Dr. Ashok Phadke as someone else also posted. Really, really good doctor. Picked up on a couple of potentially serious problems with our newborn while still in the hospital, been with him ever since. He will work with you on vaccines and he is conservative when it comes to antibiotics. Very intelligent. Someone also posted about Dr. Samuelson, a friend of mine uses him and is very happy about it.
Interview whichever doctor you are interested in.
