Seeking Advice to Be a SAHM

How wonderful you want to be home with your family more! I have been at home with my kids for almost 4 years now, and I love it! I was not in the exact same position as you, as my husband has always had the primary income, but we needed my income to meet our bills when I began to stay home. I initially did medical transcription, but found it stressful to meet deadlines, and I often was working while my oldest sat in front of the TV. I reassessed my priorities, and decided to find something different. I am not sure if you are familiar with direct sales (Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, etc), but this can be a great way to earn a decent income while staying home with your family. The catch is to find a company with experienced leaders with an innovative, timeless product that is fairly new or just starting out. Well, I found a company with all of those things and jumped on the train as fast as I could! The company is called Articulate Walls, and they created a company around a product called Word Art. I second looking into network marketing. I had alot of misconceptions about it, and therefore would't even consider it for years. It took seeing a family friend become very successful to get me to listen. It also helped that my birthmom was the one to approach me about doing the business (Arbonne). She is a very successful businesswoman who has started several companies, so I trusted her judgment. I also knew that she was trying to help me, not make money off of me. That was a major barrier for me when I looked at other network marketing companies. I don't do parties, our team has a professional business approach, and I love it.

I was formerly an RN, making $100K per year. I have been home full time for 5 years now. When you dont work outside of the house, you dont spend as much on gas, clothes, etc, so that saves you some $$ you are already spending.

I stay home and homeschool my 3 kids, I work around their schedule selling Mary Kay. I worked 5-10 hours a week in the beginning, and was bringing home about $1000 to $2000 per month (but there is no limit). I have since moved up into management, and make $2000 to $5000 per month working about 20 hours a week.
