the only thing i could tell you is it's the weather. it's too warm for the germs to die. In my house, all 3 of us have been passing arounf the same cold for almost 2 months. I have it now, coughing, sore throat. My 3-1/2 year old was getting mysterious fevers too. Doc gave him cough medicine & he's fine. Keep an eye on her & don't worry, it only gets better.

I've been through the ups and downs with the fevers with my kids when they were babies. I drove my self nuts trying to figure out what was wrong with them. But I just kept giving them Motrin and Tylenol and eventually, it would simmer down. Now that they are older, I am battlting Stomach Bugs, Colds etc. They bring all of this stuff home from school. It annoys me so bad when that happens. Sometimes I wish I could just homeschool my children so they wouldn't have to deal with sharing the germs of their fellow classmates.

My kids both just got over colds. Pediatric sudafed for my toddler and saline nasal drops for the baby. It was about a weeks worth of runny noses and fevers. But, its gone now.
Take heart, it will be over soon!

Hi K.. My 12 month old has been dealing with this fever thing on and off for about two weeks. She had been running a fever of about 101 for abo0ut one week, despite the use of tylenol and motrin alternated every three hours. I also tried the tepid baths, keeping her dressed lightly, etc. ANyways, I ended up having to take her into the ER to be evaluated because she suddenly spiked a fever of 104.9. The ER Dr. told me that she has an ear infecvtion and an upper respiratory infection, and he thought she had rosiola or scarlet fever. The only sure sign though, is if she develops a rash all over her body when the fever breaks. Sure enough, he was right. About four days leter, she started with a rash on her tummy and then it spread all over. She felt fine though, once she got the rash. So, I hope that helps you out somewhat.

Hello, my daughter is just about 10months and she also was having the up and down fever but with a horrible cough. The doctor put her on antibiotics and it continued. I brought her back to the doctor a week later and was told that this is the way this sickness is. The cough will go away after a few weeks and if the fever gets any higher than 103degrees to bring her to the hospital. She was like that for 3 weeks but now is fine. I hope this helps.

actually for about a week up until the day after xmas my 6 month old was pretty sick. it seemed he had a stomach virus because everything he ate came right back out whether it be by vomitingor diareah it was bad. and right before that he had a very bad cold with fever and a really bad cough which i think lowered his resistance to the stomach bug and why he got both. he is finally better now knock on wood.

Hi K.,
My daughter was ill over christmas time, however hers was something much different. She has sever ashtma. She ended up having to go in the ambulance, getting ivs,and getting intabated (not sure if I spelled that right).
However, my sisters family, was very ill with the stomache bug on christmas day. First christmas eve her 3 year old son came down with it, throwing up,diahrea, and just plain lathargic.Next day my sister who was 38 weeks pregnant came down with it, just as bad, then her husband, then her oldest son. So this bug is kicking butt and is not picky about whos butt it is....
My 3 year old nephew is STILL recovering from it, he will not eat, he just lays around, and he also got the nasty cold part of it, I have him here with me while his mom is in the hospital she just gave birth to a new baby boy! So hopefully, everyone who has gotten this bug will get better very soon.
Also I am very nerves when people tell me there kid is sick and they cant figure out what it is. My daughter Jordan, from the age of 5, we very ill.She would throw up just out of the blue,She would spike a 105 temp, and be in the worst pain you have ever ever seen a child be in. She had sharp stabbing constant pain on the left side of her back, sever stabbing constant pain shooting down her legs.Every time we took her to the doctors, some would say,its in her head, or tell us to keep a journal, write down everytime it happens and what happens. Then they would start treating her for something she doesnt have. One doctor even said well she could be getting her period. By this time she was 8! Well finally we found this pediatrician, who said you bring her to me when she is doing it! So the next time we took her to him,and he ordered test right away. She had a sono gram, which revealed our worst nightmare. Her left kidney was shutting down.My daughter was then admitted to a hospital 1hr away from home, they did more test, then referred her to another hospital 3 1/2 hrs from home, but this hospital became our home away from home.Strong's Childrens Hospital in Rochester NY. There, she ended up having to have 14 operations,On the 14th surgery she had her left kidney removed because there was just not fix to it. Her disease was called Grade 4 Hydronephrosis. The tube from the kidney to the bladder , had been pinched, and it just filled her kidney with urine, which made her kidney bigger and bigger and bigger, because it was holding so much, and because of it not draining, therefore started to rotten the kidney, when they took out my daughters kidney it was about the size of an actual kidney bean.
But anyway, I sorry to drag on, but I always worry when someones kids are sick and cant seem to shake what it is. Just do me a favor hun, cover ALL avenues.Leave no stone unturned.
Please let me know how she makes out!
Take Care

My daughter is just getting over Roseola. First she had a runny nose, then a slight fever, followed by a rash down the front of her body. After keeping her inside all week, she is finally better. It just had to pass through her system. But I had to make sure she was drinking enough juice and water.
