Try Bocci Salon at Canal and Schoenherr. There are a number of good stylists there. Sara, Deena, and James are a few that I know.
I am looking for a good salon, and a good stylist in the clinton twp area. I have hard to manage hair. It is very thick and straight. I need to find somebody who will listen and do what I ask. I used to have a great stylist but he moved away. I just tried one of those $8 places and now have quite possibly the worst haircut of my life. Help!
This is my plan.......a few of my friends have convinced me to wait a couple of weeks until I get a bit of growth so I don't end up with really short hair. Then I am going to start with the closest salon which is Headmasters on 16 & Groesbeck, talk to Sandra to see if we're on the same page - if so, I'll start there and pray. If she doesn't feel right in the conversation. I will move on to the next closest place and always talk to the stylist first. I will keep you all informed where I end up and how my hair looks. I can't thank you enough for all of your help. To the lady who offered the # of the friend who works at home - I tried to pm you, but maybe it didn't work for me, I would still like to have it (or if you would rather wait til I need it - I understand)

Hello P....
I also have very thick, very straight hair (what a pain!) I found that the BEST place to go is Bianchi's Salon on 18 Mile & Garfield. It is a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for, right? I have been to a different stylist every time I go, and have loved them all! They got me out of the old style, and into a newer, fresher style that is so much easier to manage!
I have gone to Studio 2 on Garfield, near 16 Mile Road for years. I go to Kelly, but I have never had anyone bad there. I like Theresa and Loretta too! Their number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
My mom is a stylist at Amaro's Hair Care on Garfield, just south of Canal. She's really nice and has been there for 20+ years.
The number is ###-###-####, ask for Cindy!
Headmasters at 16 & Groesbeck is a great salon. Our whole family goes there. The owner Tim has been cutting my husband's hair for over 18 years, he also does womens' cuts as well as children. I started going there more than 6 years ago. The stylist my daughter and I see is Sandra. Sandra is awesome. She will do whatever you ask. She even writes down what worked well and keeps it as reference for the next time. I am pretty picky about my hair and I have to say that I have been happy with my haircut and color every time I go there. In fact I have an appointment for Saturday. Good Luck.
Hi P.,
I have a friend who live in Macomb in the 22 Mile and Romeo Plank area who does hair out of her home. She has an actual salon in her basement, so this isn't going to someone's home and sitting in their kitchen... I love the work she does. If you are interested in contacting her, PM me through Mama Source and I'll give you her info. Don't want to post private info here.
Good Luck,
J. in Macomb
Spa Be True is at Hayes and 21 Mile Rd. I know the owner, it is fairly new (about a year 1/2). I've been going to Sandy for 10 years now and she's great with color. Jaime is good too. It is a very relaxing atmosphere without all the smells of a nail salon! They do all kinds of other treatments too: massages, facial, pedicures, etc! Their number is ###-###-####. Have fun!
