I'm looking for a new stylist... someone that could look at my pin straight, shoulder length hair and come up with a new, easy to maintain do! It's been a while since I've had it cut/highlighted so I'd like to try something new. I want somewhere close to home (I currently go to Joliet, but it's about a 30 minute drive) and would like to find something more local. A salon and stylist recommendation would be appreciated! My old roommate Brenda is amazing!!! She has been doing my pin straight, thick hair for at least 4-5 years now and I get compliments on it all the time (especially when I didn't have time to do anything with it).
She works out of two locations, one in Mokena and the other in Homer Glen on 159th between Wolf and Bell Rd. in the shopping strip with Ace Hardware.
The Homer Glen location is ###-###-#### and the Mokena location is ###-###-####. She goes to school also so she doesn't work a great deal of hours, but call and they will let you know when she is in and get you scheduled.
She's very good at coming up with ideas and also going off of any pictures you bring in. She also tends to ask alot of questions to get the feel of what kind of maintenance you are up for and how you usually like to wear your hair so that the style can be accomodating. Many friends of mine have gone to her and she did all the hair for me and my girls in my wedding (which she was in also) and my sister in laws for her wedding. She's good.

Is South Naperville too far? Carrie, who owns Salon Intuitions, is AWESOME! I, too, have pin straight, thin hair, and had never gone to the same stylist more than once, because I was never happy with what they did (or did not do) with my hair. Anyway, since I met Carrie three years ago, I've been going to her ever since. She came up with the cutest style for me that is so easy, and actually makes my hair look like it has body! Her Salon is in the Salon Galleria complex on Washington Road and 87th Street in Naperville. I have the same hair - pin straight & lifeless! Try Jami in Mokena at Tara Bella salon (Mokena on Rt. 30) - she is FABULOUS & knows what to do with this type of hair! Otherwise, Carly at Jeffry LaMorte, Frankfort is also GREAT. Both are the two I "bop" between to change it up a bit. Best of luck.

I go to Hair Cuttery in Orland Park 179th and Wolf Road (the Jewel Complex). I see a girl Megan and I absolutely love her! Now I am coming from many other salons where I was paying b/t $45-$150 for a haircut and color and I have short hair! I went in last week and received a haircut, style and my eyebrows for $28!!! I have had many girls there cut my hair also and I was very pleased. I was a skeptic going in (why no idea) but I will recommend that location to anyone! I love it. I don't know how west/north you are in Lockport but my sister is off Cedar and it is about 7 miles away.
