Hello everyone! I've always loved to dance. When I was in high school I was in a few dance teams but of coarse, over the years I've strayed away. Well now I want to get back into it. So, do you moms know of any dance studios/classes that I could attend? It would be nice if they cater to the 40 something year old women. I don't want to feel out of my league. Hopefully they offer some type of beginner’s coarse or intermediate training. Thanks so much!

The Y in Hermitage (on Lebanon rd. and Andrew Jackson) has dance lessons. The type of lessons vary, currently it is the Hustle and the lessons are Oct 18th-Nov 15. First class starts tomorrow but you should still be able to sign up. I think the price for non-members is $30.00?,and I believe that is the couple price but again I'm not sure. (singles do sign up also) ###-###-#### I don't know what they will be offering next but I know they have done the rumba, swing, and cha-cha before as well as the hustle so I don't know if they will do them all again or if they may offer others. I haven't taken any classes but I know the YMCA offers dance classes for adults.
Vanderbilt University offers an excellent dance program open to the community. I think that you have missed fall registration, but you can always drop in and pay by the class ($12-$15 per class I think). Or just wait until Spring. They offer a slew of classes...from ballet to swing. They range in level as well. I am a professional modern dancer myself and have worked with some of the instructors so I know they are great. I can't think of the website address off hand, but google "Vanderbilt dance" and you should be able to find it. Good luck to you! Dance is such a great release.
