I just found out that St Christopher's is no longer seeing new dental patients, I am hoping someone may know of another dentist in the Philadelphia area that I could take my 9 year old to. He is autistic and developmentally delayed so I am looking for a dentist that will be ok with him being difficult. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love our dentist: Dr. Felice Hom Au, 120 N. 10th Street, ###-###-####. She and her staff are very patient with my daughter.

We have been seeing Dr. Steve Solow in Philadelphia for the past 5 years. He and his staff have been great with both of my kids. My older daughter has Tourette Syndrome which was asymptomatic at our last visit, however at the visit before, she had awful tics which included whipping her neck several times a minute. During the checkup, he determined that she had a cavity that needed to be filled. He offered coming back when she might have fewer symptoms, but as stress often exacerbates the tics, I thought it might be better to just get it over with, so she wouldn't have it hanging over her head long term. He agreed that he could do it with laughing gas to relax her a bit, though the insurance would not cover it. My point is that he worked with us and got her through it. This visit, no TS symptoms, no cavities, and she remains happy when she hears it is time for an appointment. She is 8. His web site with all contact information is:

Good Luck!

I would check with children's hospital and see if they have a dentist or one they can recommend.
