Seeking Family Practioner in South Hills, Also Endocrinologist & Pediatrician

Hi everyone,
Both my Mom and I are looking to find a family practioner/internist in the South Hills area. My Mom's in Bridgeville, my family's in Brookline. Any practice near those areas would be fine. My Mom would prefer a female, but I have no preference as long as the doctor is medically up-to-date, open-minded and not condescending. I'm also looking to find a new endocrinologist - my current one, who is is a wonderful physician, just can't understand that patients don't like waiting three or four hours to see her! Lastly, I wondered if anyone takes their kids to Children's Community Pediatrics in Mt. Lebanon. I'm thinking about switching from the CCP near the Village to the one in Mt. Lebo, since it will save us 20 minutes in traffic, not to mention the gas! If you go there, how are they with waiting time, after-hours calls, and treating patients as families (not as if their illnesses are unrelated!)? I welcome your suggestions and advice.

What can I do next?

Hey L.
We go to CCP of Mt Lebanon and I switched to them after doing a bit of research. We see Dr Gotgoweitz and Dr Lanz (who runs the place) all very attentive. You can call during the day and speak to a nurse with any questions and between 7:30-8 am you can actually talk with a Doctor if you need to. I like the practice we have been going there for 2 years. The wait time in the waiting room can be long at times because they get busy but I figure thats everywhere you go! The weekends they can page the Doctor and they have always gotten back to me and spent the time talking to me on whatever issue and if we needed a specialist they set up the appointment for us ahead of time. They do have female doctors on staff and all very nice and thorough. My daughter was misdiagnosed on ear infections and they have caught every one of them!
Good Luck to you
S.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my pediatrician. His name is Dr Ketyer and he is just great with kids. His whole group is likable, but he is my favorite. The group is Pediatric Alliance and they are located in the Chemtech building on Washington Pike, first floor. The number is ###-###-####. I have referred several friends to him and they all have been happy. Dr Bacdyan (sp?)is a female in that group who is also really nice. There are two men and the rest are women, but I am just not as familiar with the women because I have boys and prefer the male doc. The office always takes my calls within a reasonable amount of time and I can talk to a nurse whenever I need to ask a question. I quickly get appointments when I have sick children and they often ask, "Can you come in right now?" I can't say enough about them. I have never left there unhappy with anything about their practice! Good luck!

L.,
I go to CCp on Ft. Couch but had an appt there yesterday. My normal ped was ill so Dr Yost from the Mt. Lebanon office was her replacement and she was very nice!
Also, have you tried Fatigati, Nalin & Assoc as a GP? I believe they have an office in Mt. Lebanon, we go to the Bethel Park office.
