Seeking Feedback on Home-based Business Idea

First let me say, how great it is that you are venturing out of Corporate America to have more time with family. I do like your business idea, it is something everyone needs. However, my only concern is, how many people would really be able to justify paying for these services. I know there have been errand companies around for a while. Have you researched their success?
From my experience, a business with a consumable product is your best bet. Something anyone with hair and skin uses on a daily basis. I'm a Regional VP with Arbonne, and our products represent superior products for the entire family.

I think it's a great idea. Run with it girl. It will probably be hard at first, but I think you have a good idea. I would probably use someone like that if they were resonably priced. You should probably include pet sitting, dog walking, and house sitting. Your kiddos could probably lend a helping hand with dog walking and what not, and learn the value of a dollar. It's what you make of it. Keep us posted on your success, good luck!

For the last 2 years I have been preparing meals for families that are packaged and picked up weekly. While this has made me some extra cash the buisness just never took off. I still have 2 families that I cook for but I can see that this is not going to be "the buisnes" opportunity I was hoping for.
I agree with Jennifer C. that a consumable product is your best buisness bet. I have recently become a independent distributor for Sibu Balance...an all natural juice drink that is a vitamin replacement. Can you cook? All that stuff sounds good, but I would be more likely to hire someone for odd jobs if they would not only grocery shop, but come home and cook a meal! Good luck!

Hey A.! I can relate to your current work situation. I too was there a couple of years ago- high stress, negative work environment, etc. I decided to leave corporate america and open my own home based business. Prior to making that decision, I did lots of research and made sure that I was fully prepared and had savings set aside. Also, check out the Ft. If you can handle five boys, you can handle a business!!
