I am looking for a preschool for my 3 yr. old son in the Camas/ Washougal/ Vancouver area and would love any recommendations or advice. Anyone out there know of something great and affordable? Would love to get him enrolled to start after the holidays or even wait until next fall if we have to, but would love any advice from other moms who've done this before! Thanks!

What can I do next?

E., I have just switched to St. John Christian Preschool located at 11005 NE Highway 99 Vancouver WA 98686 ###-###-#### with Nancy Smithline is the thacher and director. My 31/2 year comes home happier then she has ever had before. They have already had the fire department come there for a on site field trip. They are also going to the library, bank, restaurant, zoo, pumpkin farm and the dentist office. They also have a full time child care on site too. Good luck with your choices!! C.

Both of my boys went to the Camas/Washougal Parent Co-Op preschool in Camas. You can enroll your son this spring for the fall. It is a parent run preschool and the parents rotate working in the classroom. It is usually every 6-8 weeks. This makes it affordable and it is nice to see what the kids are doing once in a while. My niece is attending there now and my nephew went there also. Give them a call at ###-###-####. Good Luck

we started out at bright futures (near the dollar store in washougal). the teachers there are great but i felt "nickel and dimed". we switched to the co-op and it's been great so far.

i've also heard good things about circle of friends and know several people who go to seeds of joy which is in the harvest community church on prune hill.

when my daughter's not at preschool, we go to the indoor playpark at the harvest church (non-affiliated). it's a co-op. come check it out sometime for free: http://www.cwindoorplaypark.org/

Hi. The Camas-Washougal Parent Co-op is a great preschool. They are located in the St. Johns church on Birch St. in downtown Camas. The preschool is not affliated with the church. It is very affordable, great teachers and parent involvement. The parents are required to work a job and help in the classroom about every 6 weeks. It is a great way to be involved in your childs education. The website is www.cwcoop.org.

Mill Plain United Methadist church preschool is excellent and affordable! I have had 3 kids attend there, my daughter is at her last year now...wow times flies. My 12 yr. old went there for two years, my daughter for 2 yrs. and now my youngest is on her 3rd year there. Its located in e.vancouver off mill plain and close to 164th (close to target) As tuition has increased since my son went there, it is still very much affordable and has increased all that much. I highly recommend it!

I would like to second Cindy's repsonse. My daughter has attended St. Johns Christian Daycare/Preschool since she was one year old. It is absolutely the best daycare out there. My daughter loves it and my son will begin going there in a few months when he turns one. They have the best teachers, the best curriculum, very loving and nurturing teachers, directors, etc. They have had very low turnover the entire time I've been there, which really says a lot. My daughter is 4 1/2 and my son will have the same teachers that she had going through the programs. As an added bonus, they are very reasonably priced as well. I would recommend them to anyone.
