Hi M.,

I must recommend my OB/GYN. She is incredible. I had major problems with my first delivery and asked around like you are for a new gyno. before getting pregnant with number 2. A friend suggested Dr. Cheryl Rips with the Women's Clinic of Johnson COunty on 119th Street (heart of Overland Park). Her number is ###-###-####. I know 2 gals that each had 3 babies with this doctor and both raved about what a great OB/GYN she is. My second delivery with her was a breeze. Good luck!

I went to Womens Health Associates in Shawnee and Overland Park. They are wonderful. My doctor is Regan Wittek. She had a baby two weeks before I was due and she came back from maternity leave to deliver my baby via c-section. I had to see two other doctors for my last two visits and they are just as friendly. All the doctors there are wonderful. Dr. Wittek was very caring with me seeing how I was a high risk pregnancy. For my second child, I plan on going back to her. Best of luck.

I go to For Women Only in Overland Park (located next to Overland Park Regional) - Dr. James Mirabile has performed two surgeries and one C-section, and another associate performed my 2nd C-section. (I came through all of them with flying colors)I have been with this group for over 6 years and have no complaints!!! Dr. Mirabile and his staff are on the cutting edge of technology too!

Hi M.,
I recommend any of the Dr.'s in Women's Health Associates.
I have been with them for many years and they have delivered all my babies. It is a practice of all women and they delivery primarily at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Their number is ###-###-####. I see Dr. Kristin Wootton and absolutley adore her! My sister works with all these Dr.'s as she is a labor & delivery nurse at the hospital and this is who she recommended to me based on seeing them all in action at the hospital.
Let me know if you need any more info on the area. Preschools or whatever.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy Overland Park. I pretty much grew up here and think it is a great place. My husband grew up in Glencoe & we lived in Chicago together for a few years.
I loved it there but was glad to come home too.

Hi M.,

I am glad you asked. I have used Dr. Timothy Martin for the past five years. He is the main doctor at the Women's Health Care Group. ###-###-#### is their main number. They are located at 435 and Quivira in the Overland Park Regionals doctors building. Dr. Courtney Younglove is in this practice as well. I saw that someone else had mentioned her. She is a really nice person.

Take Care,

I have used Women's Health Associates for the last 10 years-Dr. Swartzman. Three children later I am currently partnered with them to teach childbirth classes and provide doula support and have been very pleased with their practice-it's nice to know what to expect with everyone in their group. I used Women's Health Associates (specifically Dr. Leah Ridgway), and although in many ways, I truly loved them, there are some things you should know. I've decided to have my FP deliver my next baby, if all goes as planned, because WHA is just too large a group! I kept telling Dr. Ridgway that I thought my boy would come early, so I needed to meet the other doctors, and the office kept putting it off. I ended up delivering at 37 weeks, 2 days, with a doctor I'd never met. She did not listen to me, she would not let me move around and change position, and I pushed for over 3.5 hours with no drugs. If Dr. Ridgway had delivered, I think I would have been happier, but with WHA, if you deliver after hours, you get whoever is on call, even if you don't know her. Shawnee Mission Med Ctr is also more restrictive than I'd like--no drinking water during labor, for instance. Just my 2 cents' worth. Again, it's a good group (although one dr. was EXTREMELY rough during an exam and I'll never give her a recommendation for anything), but it's just too big to really know everyone well enough to feel comfortable.

I had a great experience with Dr.Corrina Cooper at Johnson County OBGYN. She was recommended to me by two people and I loved her right away. Her office is really nice and is right across the highway from Shawnee Mission Medical Center which has a great maternity ward. She is a very nice person and really helped me to feel at ease during my pregnancy. (Plus she just had a baby so she understands what you are going through) I never had to wait long in the waiting room either because she makes a point of not making you wait if at all possible. My husband even looked forward to our appointments! Another Dr. at her practice that I have heard of from a friend is Dr.Cederlind.

When I moved back from Florida I very randomly selected a ob/gyn for the sole purpose of needing a pap smear. I ended up with Dr.Wittek at Womens Health. I really like her and the other doctors I've seen. I don't have a 2nd baby in the works yet, but when I do I will be very comfortable with that practice.

I see Dr. Anthony Heit at the Kansas City Women's clinic. They are located right next to Overland Park Regional. We had some fertility issues with our first child and he was wonderful to deal with. I had always been to female gyn's prior to this, but I feel totally comfortable with him.

Hi M.-
I had a great experience at Women's Health Associates. I had to deliver via C-section 2 weeks early. The doctors (all women are great!) and yes it is a big group but I had no problem meeting other doctors before my delivery.

The Women's Health Associates in Overland Park or Shawnee, Kansas have a good selection of OB/GYN's. Their located at 9119 W. 74th St. , Suite 300. Thier number is ###-###-####. They have offices in Shawnee and Overland Park. My doctor is Reagan Wittek. She is apart of a group of women doctors who are great. I had a c-section and they were all there to make sure everything went ok. It was scary, but I had a group of women who knew exactly what to do. I thank god for modern technology, without it, I probably would not have made it or my beautiful daughter. So I highly recommend them.

Beware, I went to Womens Healthcare Group in Lenexa and I am very sorry. I could not ever recommend the office to anyone. My son had a congenital heart defect and a mass in his lung that they did not detect! I would say that the people were "nice" but nice is not enough when it comes to your healthcare provuders. I wish I had chosen another office!!

My OB/GYN was Dr. Erik Smith at St. Luke's... great. He specializes in high-risk pregnancies so hopefully you don't qualify for that! My regular OB/GYN is Dr. Stephanie Carpino... young and wonderful. She is in Independence but a short hop from OP located at 291 and 40 hwys. in the Cliffs Medical buildings. Good luck!

M.! Congratulations on your relocation, and your third baby!! My husbands family is from the Chicago area, we love it there! I must tell you that I have had personal experience with Dr. Mirable and I have since switched Doctors.
Basically, if you dont want to have a C-Section, dont go to him.
I am now going the Women's Healthcare Group. I have heard great things about Dr. Kimberly Schlichter. (I personally saw Dr. Younglove). Their number is ###-###-####. Good Luck!!

I live in OP but my OB/GYN is Dr. Estrada with Olathe Women's Center, located at Olathe Medical Center. I have been going to her for almost five years and really like her. She did all my prenatal care when I had my twin girls, and her partner, Dr. Snider, was actually the one who did my c-section. They are the only two physicians in the practice, so you don't have to get to know a lot of different people. Welcome to the area, and good luck in your search!

Congrats on your pregnancy! I would definitely recommend the Women's Healthcare Group, as have several others. They are located next to Overland Park Regional. I have seen several CNM's there over the course of my pregnancy, since my original one has been on maternity leave, and could not be more pleased. The staff are friendly and committed and they have a lot of options and help/support for childbirth and after the baby arrives. I've heard nothing but good things about the OB/GYN's as well, especially Dr. Younglove.
